Well, she is my only child, so I do tend to spoil her a bit. It would be inconsistent to start denying her shit now. Besides, she will be in Ohio. She will need a way to periodically escape from that boring hellhole.
Been a long time since I was in Columbus. It didnt suck, not by a long shot.

As a wisconsinite I am obligated to hate it however.

Turns out it's fake news. She did very little of the work and the fake news MM gave her all the credit. She didn't lead the team either. It was a (probably) a straight white male. "You're fucking a white male!"

Like, I can understand her getting all the credit if she was the supervisor of the project, but she wasn't.

I mean coding is not the tough part, which people are getting mad that the kid that wrote so much of the code isn't getting credit. It's starting the project and having the idea.

As it has been stated, she wasn't the supervisor. It was some guy name Shephard if I recall correctly from the video. She was part of a huge team of scientists. Also, she did nothing to correct everyone! Yeah, she said my team was helpful, but if I saw the media giving me all the credit, I'd bow my head to the supervisor of the project.

Brent, I've been working on a hypothesis, and I'd like your input.

I believe everyone from Ohio is possessed of a deep desire to escape Ohio. I believe they're only something like 3% of the national population; yet they make up disproportionate amount of the astronaut corps. Neil Armstrong was from Ohio. I believe as a boy, when the night sky was clear, Neil looked up and thought "you know, the Moon is pretty far from Ohio."

And without fail, you meet plenty of people from Ohio in the military. They always talk about how great it is; and all I could do was point out that there we were, literally on the opposite side of the world from Ohio.

Your thoughts?

It is perfectly plausible. Ohio may be the worst place in the USA, so it makes sense that they all desire to escape.

I think I'd end up going Michael douglas falling down crazy if I had deal deal with socal traffic on the daily
It is tempting, no doubt about it. Doing a freeway shooter scenario, perched up high on a hill overlooking one of the busy interchanges, with a scoped 7 mm Magnum is another fantasy that traffic sufferers commonly have.

Certainly seems that way.

Is Florida the Queensland of the States?

Or is Queensland the Germany of Australia?

Or is Germany the Florida of Europe?

I get that it is a new technology and all that. My gripe is that they present it as an actual image of a black hole, and that is not what it is.

It is indeed, an image of the black hole, as much of an image as you're going to get from an object that doesn't emit ANY light.

'An image is an artifact that depicts visual perception, such as a photograph or other two-dimensional picture, that resembles a subject—usually a physical object—and thus provides a depiction of it. In the context of signal processing, an image is a distributed amplitude of colour."

It is an artificially-created computer generated image of the radiation that escapes at the event horizon, not the black hole itself. I would think scientists would be a bit more accurate. :nono
Yes, and when you get an X-ray of a broken femur, that's not the actual femur you're looking at.

So what ?

It's an absolutely fucking amazing feat !
