Good race

Cant believe Ocon did that, that unlapping yourself thing surely applies to just cruising past not actually battling wheel to wheel with the fucking leader

lol max just got bleeped for ages

In a deplorable basket
I seem to remember Senna getting a bit punchy with Eddie Irvine for unlapping himself and he didn't even make contact.

As for whether any of them can fight, nah, not in a brawling sense. It may be some use some martial arts for fitness but do you see any of them doing full contact shit or getting into street brawls?

See both sides but MV should have screwed the nut a bit and realised where the fight actually was and again its part of his game that he needs to reign in a bit.

We have seen with Vettel this season that he has let his emotions get the better of him too many times and its a fine line between them gaining points,or looking a bit of a tool which over a season is very costly.

As for fighting, think most would take their hand bags to be honest.Would love to have seen Ocon meet the shoves with a peach of a hook but alas no.

As mentioned,i think the Finns would get my money if shit got serious.

So the season is over. Let's have a look at the final standings;

After a hard fought and honourable campaign from the ever popular me, ura, I was controversially knocked off the top spot by the infamous and highly divisive @Steve Funn . It may be a win for Steve but a win not without controversy, as some have labelled his campaign as deceitful, scandalous and downright dishonest.

Anyway after being thoroughly destroyed by me, in third comes @BoxSharp . Well done Sharp for a well fought and honest campaign.

In forth is the ever pleasant @nezy37 . Well done and commiserations for losing so badly to me.

In fifth by a mere 1 point is brett. I still don't know who the fuck brett is. What is your username?! Anyway, well done for coming 3 places below me. And thanks for not cheating.

Last but not least is the intelligent and kind @Crean , who I suspect approached this tournament with the same amount of enthusiasm as a crack whore making small talk with a priest.

So well done nezy, boxsharp, crean and brett, and me of course.

Steve you can take your trophy and fuck off.

See you all for next year's tournament!

Really interesting 5 piece article on Alonso's career and talents on the BBC if anyone is interested and hasn't read it. Here's all 5 parts.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/46318167

It really hammers home how unlucky he has been, and also how lucky (as good as he is) Vettel is to have 4 world titles. I didn't follow the sport that closely from 2010 to 2014, so don't really remember how lucky Vettel was to take 2012 and how impressive Alonso was to be so close and lose due to no fault of his own.

I'll read the article later but yeah in 2012 Alonso drove as well or even better than Lewis did this season. Absolutely phenomenal.

I tried. Then forgot my password so I had dan all season which couldn't have been good as he kept dnfing.

Anyways I thought that was a good season. Hopefully Ferrari can mount a greater challenge to lewis and Mercedes next year. I'd like to see both titles come down to the last race. Really hope leclerc can push seb, there is a lot on the line for him next season. I feel like we are going to figure out just how good he is.

Read it the other day and its an excellent piece with a lot i knew fuck all about.

As you say 2012 should have been in the bag but team orders,or lack of,didnt help him one bit.
Funny as fuck him not letting Hamilton out to get another lap done after the selfish cunt disobeying orders with the running order in qualifying.

Yeah it was very eye opening. I know he's massively respected by hardcore F1 fans and by other drivers, and like most drivers can be a bit of a brat, but clearly talented as fuck.

These disgusting allegations I was hacking in and changing everyone elses race predictions are completely unfounded fake news folks.

Really I remember Massas 2012 being probably the most "#2 driver" season I can think of to the point it was taking a bit of shine off alonsos season towards the end (didnt massa outqualify and or let him past in the race a few times towards the end of the year once they sorted the car out a bit) I think if Vettel was lucky in 2012 it was because he had the only car that was clearly the best for a period in time and he did win nearly every race when it was.

Hamiltons season this years the only season Id put along with Alonso 2012 in recent history, some of those races early in the season you could literally see the ferrari handled like shit and Massa was completely lost but Alonso was somehow getting podiums. That was a really great season for drivers the differences between team mates at the top teams that year were unbelievable, Hamilton was great that year too but Mclaren in a shocking turn of events fucked it all up for him so it doesnt look like it on results anyway it was quality to see those 3 drivers with 11 titles all do that warm down lap together in abu dhabi.

Still find it pretty ridiculous none of the top teams have the balls to just say fuck it and put Alonso aside their top driver and just see what happens, could really regret it in terms of constructors too lets say Ferrari and Merc stay where they are and Red Bull catch up a little more then whoever had Alonso + Vettel/Ham/Max would be nailed on for the constructors.

And the Button Hamilton gap is a good 50 points shorter than it should have been, that was the year of the supposed comedy tyres producing random results but I dont think so looking at that.

Seasons like Alonso 2012 should get remembered though like with Schumacher I think he was most impressive with his non title winning earlier seasons at Ferrari, in F1 cant just judge drivers on the results without context

A little update on the most significant driver records, and where Hamilton stands now...

Titles:

1. Schumacher - 7
2. Hamilton & Fangio - 5
3. Prost & Vettel - 4

Race Wins:

1. Schumacher - 91
2. Hamilton - 73
3. Vettel - 52
4. Prost - 51
5. Senna - 41

Most Consecutive Seasons With A Race Win:

1. Schumacher - 15
2. Hamilton - 12
3. Prost - 10
4. Senna - 9
5. N.Piquet - 8

Pole Positions:

1. Hamilton - 83
2. Schumacher - 68
3. Senna - 65
4. Vettel - 55
5. Clark & Prost - 33

Total Fastest Laps:

1. Schumacher - 77
2. Raikkonen - 46
3. Hamilton & Prost - 41
4. Vettel - 36

Total Podium Finishes:

1. Schumacher - 155
2. Hamilton - 134
3. Vettel - 111
4. Prost - 106
5. Raikkonen - 103

Total Races Finished In The Points:

1. Schumacher - 221
2. Raikkonen - 204
3. Alonso - 202
4. Hamilton - 192
5. Vettel - 179

1. Hamilton - 47
2. Schumacher - 40
3. Vettel - 31
4. Senna - 29
5. Prost - 18

1. Schumacher - 22
2. Hamilton - 14
3. Jim Clark - 11
4. Fangio - 9
5. Prost & Vettel - 8

That means he is in the top 3 for every major record, bar one, and if he races for 4 more years, he could catch up to Schumacher in many of them. He also has the most wins at different Grand Prixs (23) and the most at different tracks (26) which shows good adaptability, but don't belong in the major records as so many new tracks and then replaced a year later.

I think i was writing shite bud and it was a different year, not 2012.Sure it said he was only in the 4th quickest car so Alonso done pretty well.

Why do you think nobody is taling a punt with him as it is strange right enough.
With how head strong he can be it could be a recipe for disaster too i suppose.

Well done on winning, most prestigious comp you can get imo.

WAR Hamilton!

It might seem boring to want him to keep winning, but for me there's something fascinating when a sports person is playing for greatness and the all time records. It's not that often you get to see it live.

Completely agree mate. Would love to see him beat Shoemaker's records.

However, I have a feeling it's Ferrari's year this time. Partly because of their "magical power boost" they had last year that gave them 3-4 tenths a lap. If that is still on the car this year then it gives them such an advantage over the rest of the field.

We will see in Q3 in Australia, as that's when they activate it. Even so, Spain and Australia are not always completely representative, as we saw last year.

Testing will be very interesting!

Red Bull looks quality wish theyd use the testing liveries in season sometimes, this one was awesome

The alfa looks sweet too, all the small teams should go mental with their liveries to stand out a bit.

Im hoping for a ferrari or red bull title win, bored of mercedes. Hopefully honda sort their shit out, Im kind of expecting them to do it as well considering Mclaren ditched them and mclaren get literally everything wrong.
