I'm not one for these, I never remember to do it, and I end up sticking with my first lineup the entire year. I'm happy to talk shit on anyone who sucks though

As an aside if you're itching for some open wheel racing the first round of IndyCar is this weekend on the streets of st Petersburg, well half streets half airport. Generally has some good racing.

Race starts at 130 eastern us, so for you in the UK that's what? 630 I think. Pretty sure Europe is covered by sky so if you get f1 you get indy I think

Ah so apparently the fastest lap bonus point only applies to drivers who finish in the top 10 anyway thankfully which should avoid farcical scenes of the bottom half of the grid all pitting at the end of the race at least, still a stupid idea.

Steve mate you doing the fantasy league this year? Code is 26571683 . https://fantasygp.com/

Also @BoxSharp @nezy37 @Crean and whoever else was in the league, can't remember. The ever elusive brett was one...where are you brett?

@Jay @Strike @ISPEAKUMTROOTH fancy joining this year?
Thanks, but no. I don't like having to remember to make picks in things, it's why I've never bothered with Fantasy Football and why I stopped doing the old ESB boxing prediction league.

Not sure why f1 decides to do stupid shit with their point system from time to time. This isnt as bad as Bernie making the final race double points but it is just so unnecessary. Was anyone complaining at all about the point system and did Nyone anywhere think bonus points for fast lap was a thing that was needed?

It wont be the back markers pitting but 6th? The top three teams have such a pace advantage that whomever is running sixth could possibly pit and retain their spot so then why not? Point is, somewhere in the top ten in a lot of races there will be an opportunity for someone to grab a garbage point and what enhancement does that bring to the product as a whole? So poorly thought out.

If you want to give bonus points maybe pole would be a better option and again, why?

Charlie Whiting (Race Director) has died. He's been the name to decide big issues for as long as I can remember. I wonder who'll replace him.

Shame about Charlie, part of the furniture of F1.

Also, Mercedes' new updates include changing their front wing slightly to more resemble Ferrari/Alfa Romeo. A sure sign, as some of us suspected, that Ferrari were on a superior development path. See the arrow indicating a lowering towards the end plates, its purpose to create greater outwash, so pushing more air away from the car, or specifically away from the front tyres which will cause disturbances down the rest of the car.

Jumping to conclusions from fp1 - the Honda is actually a decent engine and red bull could be right there

This isn’t a red bull type track so if they are within .4 of pole here they’ll be looking really good

All just waiting till q3 to see if Ferrari do have that gap now, I’m doubting it tbh

There was a report in a Dutch publication the other day saying Merc would gain a second from testing to Australia which I immediately thought was bullshit, seemed much too big a gain for 2 weeks right?

Strange. Ferrari say they're having set up issues atm so could explain their lack of relative pace, plus it's only practice. Still very positive from Mercedes and Red Bull; Max's long run pace looked rather good too.

Remember lads @Steve Funn @nezy37 @BoxSharp get your predictions in before tomorrow. One of the choices is "Where will Max finish?", so a slight change from last year.
Just watched practice last night. Man Ferrari and Mercedes are close and max at least isnt far off either. Looks like hass v alfa for the tops of the rest right now as well, I thought rennault would make that jump but thus far it doesnt appear to be so.

My God is William's bad

Its getting to the point where you wonder if they will survive. Losing the stroll money has to hurt
Yeah. I heard a rumour the other day about them being so short of money they had to get parts from the other teams. Crazy if true.

Hope Russel finds some good pace, seems a good lad.

Like what I wonder. Dont a lot of the teams get stuff from the big boys? Makes you wonder if they are putting stuff on the car that they didnt really have time to account for on their overall design.
