Dreadful. Only Disney could manage to slaughter Star Wars so badly.
It's unbelievable, really. I was tearing up at the excitement for this hoping for that one franchise saving move that would use a somewhat conceivable explanation to the previous abomination, hellacious space battles, epic lightsaber duels with Grand Admiral Thrawn as the huge reveal (Played my Matt Smith) with an ESB ending that leads into the next trilogy based pn the Heir To The Empire series...

My tears were it seems, to be for the death of what should have been a colossal movie series....

I would have blatantly ripped off 1:47- with Palpatine asking Hux how he would deal with this rebellion problem and intercut with some footage of the rebels getting wrecked, Palpatine fighting Rey and Kylo,Thrawn and Palpatine dialogue over it and the last shot of the 3 asking what C3PO is looking at and his response being "Doom"

Wow Matt Smith would have been perfect. Why couldn't Disney realize they had so much literature to work with. Thrawn was one of the best written characters in the Star Wars Universe. Why coulnd't DIsney look at GoT and see that they could make something amazing if they stuck to the literature they had and made something amazing from that. Oh well... my favorite franchise of all time has been gutted and turned into a SJW turdfest.

So true. I had in my mind after the debacle that was TLJ, I had hoped they could explain the Force itself as the energy needed to bring balance to the actual universe and not just the Jedi and Sith who are on opposing extremes as it were. The next Trilogy I would have focused on that and revealed that in order for the balance to occur, the Rebels and Empire had to unite as a collective whole and not one side side overpowering the other in a never ending struggle for control. And just in time to finally defeat the Emperor, unite with Admiral Thrawn and put that concept to test against the deadliest enemy the entire galaxy has ever seen for the next trilogy...

The Yuuzhan Vong...

The series begins twenty-one years after the Rebel Alliance destroyed the second Death Star. The New Republic is facing internal conflict while trying to maintain peace. A new, powerful enemy, known as the Yuuzhan Vong, emerges from the outer galaxy, beginning what will be known as the Yuuzhan Vong invasion. The Jedi, along with the New Republic, struggle to resist this new alien race while it steadily pushes forward, annihilating or occupying different parts of the galaxy.

I'm agonising over whether to give them a ticket sale for this. Star Wars isn't quite dead for me, but I don't accept the sequel trilogy as canon. I detest that they got the original trio and all of the main good guys from the OT together... and just wasted them! They had one golden opportunity and fucked it up massively

I can't even put into words how frustrated I am with Disney Soy Wars

Star Wars main films wont get great literature or strong director driven films anymore. It's a disney driven vision now which is a product to focus on commercialization and branding. the production is watered down by immense layers of focus groups, marketers, distribution, demographics, appealing to the widest audience possible to get the biggest return on investment. It's too big for its own good.

Ironically it might have been the original star wars films that probably that fucked a lot of Hollywood filmmaking this way. I am pretty much stuck into watching Indy films these days or going through history watching all the great films of the past. Foreign films are also good.

No wonder Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola denigrate these types of franchises now. Great directors struggle to get finance for their projects. The cinema experience now is either a shit Adam Sandler type comedy or comic book franchises. Most other films hardly get a look in....

Don't. The utter abomination that was TLJ means that anyone who likes the franchise should boycott this, or it's simply condoning what they did to it. This trailer looks even worse than I expected...all large scale battle scenes and huge CGI'd landscapes...purely visual, and overly crowded too. Having 500 fighter ships in a shot rather than 50 does not make it better.

Corny lines like "Taking one last look at my friends" and the repetitive looking into the distance/over the shoulder of the cameraman every other shot...dull.

Then we're supposed to feel excited about the showdown between Rey and Kylo...why? She got the better of him the first time she had ever picked up a lightsabre, and since then she has become a jedi master with no training and battered dozens of imperial guards while barely breaking a sweat. Kylo was made to look like a moody teenager who was utterly incompetent in the last film....he's a shit bad guy.

Oh but the Emperor is back...cool, how original. If it turns out to be good...I will eat humble pie, but I won't be finding out by putting money into Kennedy et als back pockets.

Can you imagine this pedo reprobate at the actual cinema showing, wanking himself and making "owowowoooowwowo" noises right through the fuckin thing?

Cunt would be wearing my popcorn.
Now, now let us be reasonable. Popcorn is expensive and a salt and buttery goodness that will satiate our need for junk food. I'll just hop over a row or two and threaten bodily harm to the waste of skin while choking him into an understanding. Much better than that damn trailer I think.

The movie looks shit, it does
But last movie, it won't be. Disney is a money making machine that will come up with a cheesy story for another 20 movies.
