People seem to forget the upset of Chavez sr.
Going into the fight Frankie Randall was seen as an underachiever whose prime years were behind him. He had suffered various out of ring issues including drug addiction problems and was a big underdog. Hardly anyone expected an upset.
He put on a technical masterclass to hand Chavez his first loss.

Shit. 59 as well. For a long time I never forgave him for him beating JCSuperstar. Once I got a bit older I learned to let it go.

Long career in the amateurs, followed by a log career in the pros and often fighting top tier talent does take a toll on a fighter.
The price some fighters pay for plying their trade is huge and it sounds like Frankie Randall was one of them with how his life turned out with living with dementia in assisted living and dying at such an early age.

I supposed getting smacked around the head fifty times every three minutes for twelve rounds at a time doesn't help things. Times this by 40 and that's your answer to a certain extent. Also, though I won't taint boxers' reputations, some of them are wrong 'uns. Still love the lot of them.

Gatti killed by his wife, Diego in a bike crash, TAPIA just got tired of life basically, never a quitter, his body just gave up on him.

Bought the Hector Camacho (Christian Giudice) book a couple of weeks ago, that's a very good read. Camacho Cool. Not as cool as Jorge Paez though.
