"BoxingScene.com has learned through multiple sources that Yuriorkis Gamboa is being seriously considered as Davis’ next opponent. Whomever he faces, Davis is expected to return to the ring July 27 in a fight Showtime will televise from Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Davis’ hometown.

...If Gamboa prices himself out of a potential shot at Davis, it’s also possible Davis could make a mandatory defense of his WBA “super” 130-pound championship against Ricardo Nunez."

Not the worst fight

Davis vs Loma is never happening and its because of Top Rank, Arum is fucking up the sport again none of his guys are being matched tough because his stable isnt big enough for him to risk them taking a loss

They are trying to hype up Teofimo Lopez as a Loma opponent when he hasnt fought anyone good yet, same way Crawford is getting matched terribly aswell Arum does not have alot of fighters

Agreed, it's not the worst fight ever, but Davis has been fighting too many soft touches. He hasn't fought anyone since Pedraza.

I'd say there is more reluctance from PBC to make the Loma-Davis fight, and not the other way around.

Al Haymon matches his people tough, Arum doesnt have any fighters I dont think Al Haymon gives a shit about Davis enough to care if he gets a loss, Arum is trying to hype up a novice to make a Loma PPV fight because he knows hes running out of opponents, Arum is matching Fury with a random guy just to milk some money out of him Arum has been messing up the sport for years

Really? Wilder didn't fight anyone for 35 fights and the Charlo's have had it easy. Haymon does give a shit about Davis otherwise he would've let him fight Farmer when Hearn offered them $4m+.

Looking at Top Rank's roster on their website, they have about 80 fighters. Beterbiev, Zurdo, Ancajas, Jose Ramirez, Gvozdyk, Oscar Valdez, Brant, Crawford, Loma as their 'world' champions. Then they have a solid collection of contenders and some of the best prospects in boxing, so I don't they're desperate to protect Loma in that regard. And I don't see anything from their matchmaking that suggests they are keeping him safe.

Davis, on the other hand, has had a lacklustre run since the Pedraza fight. The type of run which suggests they're not ready to throw him in with any elite fighters at the moment.

But Wilder was Al Haymon's star he was literally the only one who got babied to get the WBC title, Al Haymon doesnt seem to care about anyone else he has matched all his WW's tough, seems like Spence vs Porter will be next he does not care about peoples "0" apart fron Wilder's because he could be his biggest cash cow, but yeah with Mayweather involved with Davis' career hes probably messing it up

Exactly they dont have opponents for Crawford and Loma anymore unless they fight people in other promotions but Arum wont do it unless he has to, true say its Mayweather dealing with Davis' career so hes probably fucking it up, Al Haymon matches everyone hard apart from Wilder and thats for a reason because hes about to get a big payday from AJ and Fury lol
