I think this could be a good move, at his age he can’t keep competing at the top level by being a walk-forward headhunter and needs to get back to his roots with the footwork and punch selection that he used to demonstrate.
A lot of people have been feeling that he should have left Sanchez awhile ago, myself included. Abel didn't really give Golovkin anything that wasn't already there, maybe just pushed more aggression. I've watched damn near every Golovkin fight and he always had the skills. But yeah the punch variety isn't what it used to be. Also, the altitude at the age isn't a good thing so being closer to sea level should help him too.

Shit. Even though I didn´t exactly get what Abel is saying there... I gotta tell you, fighters are some of the least loyal bunch out there, they throw people under the bus for a few extra dollars to often...
Boxing can be a disloyal business at all levels, and often is.

Abel has been the one to throw GGG under the bus, with his post Canelo comments and now this. Look at the difference in professionalism between the two statments.

As they should be.

Promoters can promote loads of fighters, managers can manage loads of fighters and trainers can train loads of fighters.

But a fighter only has one career and a short window to earn, they have to get as much as they can. There's no pension fund in this business.

Golovkin looked like he was breathing heavy from round 4 in Canelo II, I wonder if a new trainer could bring out a new beast in GGG, he should work with Victor Conte or Heredia lol

I was wondering what good it would do at his age and you've just answered it.

Tbh I hadn't looked at it like that.
