The Magnusson who pulled that would been able to surpass Hall or Bjornsson in any assisted lift over 500kg, imo. Sadly, by the time he attempted it in 2016, on the same show that Hall pulled the 500, he was already ravaged by injuries and not the same.

It's funny how perceptions and popularity change because lifts with straps and a suit being treated as legit is a fairly new thing. I guess Magnusson just missed the boat.
Yeah the equipped deadlift is a funny one, I can't stand equipped lifting, most people can't I don't think, but it gets a pass for the record deadlifts for some reason. Obviously you don't get as much out of a deadlift suit as a bench or squat one but it's still cheating in my eyes.

On a side note, benni is a real nice guy, I was working the counter at the gym and he came in, I was a bit starstruck and said you don't have to pay to come in, just train for free and he said wow the gym Is free? How do you make money, and paid when he didn't have to, thought that was good of him when you have a lot of guys calling in advance to ask for a free session based on their name

It's interesting. Everyone saying they need to drop size and Eddie seems to have made a start to that but there's a chance thor won't bother and will just have such a size advantage. Wouldn't read too much into Eddie hitting the bag there, it's likely just getting used to some form of punch output. The bad thing is he seems to think he doesn't need a team to help him, maybe that will change after isolation but he likely isn't going to develop great punch technique or footwork just doing it all himself

That's 16 months away for crying out loud. :(

I think Hafthor would win though. Even thought he's bigger his cardio is still better
Big difference would be who trains more.

I have only seen one big real boxing video with Hafthor.

I think how they train is more important than who trains more, thor will likely get a coach, Hall is likely so up himself he thinks the door work he used to do means he can already fight and doesn't need a coach

Eddie has a mountain to climb. He just needs to stay in range.

I hope he doesn't peak too soon.

Eddie Hall did do a exhibition in the past and he has that bit of sparring with that one lightweight pro.

But yeah I know how I would train Eddie... a ton of rope drills...foot work drills....balance stuff.

If it's the same one I saw, the big guy is going to get his ass handed to him. The one I saw showed he had absolutely no clue about boxing. Horrible footwork with walking toward his sparring partner crossing over his feet instead of leaving his right foot forward and gliding across the ring------yeah, he was sparring southpaw.

His punches were nothing short of all arm with absolutely no using the balls of his feet to generate power to his hips and shoulders to turn over his punches with any real force.

Also his chin was totally exposed but at his height, it may be somewhat safe until someone gets inside his guard-------which was non-existent.

Some people reading way too much into these clips of bits of boxing. The fight is over a year away, by that time I'm sure they'd cripple most of the tysons in here
