A third fight between IBF super-middleweight champion Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler is a possibility, according to promoter Eddie Hearn.

Froch, 35, defeated Kessler in an enthralling contest last month, avenging his April 2010 defeat.

And Hearn insisted a decider would be compelling: "Commercially, Froch v Kessler III is just a huge fight.

"The first two were stunning nights. We will give Mikkel time to see if he wants to go again."

Froch defeated Kessler on points in London on 25 May, winning 118-10, 116-12 and 115-113 on the three judges' scorecards.

The 2010 contest in Denmark also went the distance, and after his win in London Froch hinted at a third fight.

The only other boxer to have beaten Nottingham-based Froch is WBA champion Andre Ward, who emerged the clear winner when the pair met in Atlantic City in December 2011.

Hearn rebuffed suggestions from the American's camp that any rematch would have to take place in the United States.

"I have made contact with Ward's promoter and we are ready to begin discussions with them," he said.

"For us, the fight would have to happen wherever it would make the most financial sense and that's the UK."

Either rematch could take place this winter, while it seems increasingly likely that an all-British contest with George Groves may be scheduled for 2014.

"It's time to start looking to the future," said Hearn. "We will look to fight this winter and then lead into a big stadium fight next summer."

I think It was pretty obvious they would do a third fight seeing how successful the fight was and probably more so because the show did pretty decent figures on HBO , And of course If they are serious about a 'Neutral' Venue where else is the fight gonna be than the other side of the pond.

I would like to see Kessler II then Chavez Jnr in the US. Then take on DeGale/Groves who will hold other belts or be mandatory at that point.

Froch-Kessler in Amsterdam would be cool. The trilogy fight makes sense as long as Kessler, like Froch did coming into the second fight, genuinely believes he can reverse the result.

I do not see the point in a third fight Froch won what was a close but clear UD, and almost had Kessler out of there in the 11th. A third fight can only end in a Froch at win IMO. Financially it makes sense, and I am sure that Carl will be able to claim he is clearly the better fighter if he beat Kessler again but that's not the whole story is it. Carl has been vocal post-Kessler about how he is the greatest British fighter bar Lewis, and about how he could replace Mayweather as no.1 4p4, so if that's the case get it sorted and get in the ring with Ward next up. He have heard "ward will have to come here", then "I will fight him in Vegas", then he won't, then he will, now Eddie is stating its the UK again. If Carl is all about legacy as he claims then fight Ward or move up and fight Cleverly or Hopkins don't mess about with Kessler again, or Groves before finally fighting Ward for a massive payday, losing and then retiring because that's how I see it going.

I don't get all the talk about a neutral venue, surely it'd make most money at the gate in the UK or Denmark? Groves should aim for Stieglitz and if he can come through that they could big up a big all-British unification figh.

What a shit fight, does anyone really want to see a 3rd fight ? And for it to be on PPV again i don't see any point.

I found the second fight utterly boring & predictable and unless a Froch nuthugger i don't see how you enjoyed the fight or any of the undercard.

Froch vs Adonis
Froch vs Groves
Froch vs Cleverly

All i can take, but Ward or Kessler again is boring.

I don't particularly want to see a 3rd Kessler fight if I'm honest, Kessler is past his best and I'm not sure how much he has left, they should leave it 1 a piece and move in other directions, as for Groves? That all depends if Hearn try's shafting everybody again by putting it on PPV, if its on normal sky then there's worse fights you can make.

I actually agree that it would be more interesting to see Froch face the names you've mentioned. However the comments about the second fight being boring and predictable are pure shite

The last fight was announced in Jan after months of continual speculation. Then we have 4 months of build up to the fight itself followed by a few weeks of post fight talk. Frankly I am over Froch v Kessler so let's be moving on!

Froch needs to forget about Ward, he has to swallow his pride and let that go. If he fought Ward in his back garden or the moon he'd lose and lose convincingly, Andre's style is just all wrong for him and always will be.

Would love to see a fight with Groves in the next 12 months, they need to strike whilst the iron's hot. Putting it off and building it up for too long could be a mistake. Groves could lose or Froch could age, get them in sooner rather than later whilst both are at the top of their games.

Froch wins a third fight with Kessler in even more convincing fashion if they fought again, maybe even by stoppage. Mikkel is awesome and has a great legacy but he's on the way down now. Peak Kessler would have beaten Froch again in my opinion. If I were him I'd have one last farewell in Denmark and then bow out. Wouldn't say no to Froch vs Kessler 3, I just don't think it would be competitive like the first 2.

Kessler vs Groves or DeGale in Denmark would be fantastic but as Eddie Hearn said, because of the money that's unlikely.

Pointless fight....

I'm not saying this to diminish Froch acheivments but Kessler is finish.

If the first 2 fights were about honour & legacy, the third fight will be all about the money.

I am bored of Froch vs Kessler already, why would anyone want to see a 3rd fight..? It was clear that Kessler is starting to really lose his physical abilities. Every time Froch hit him he was losing his balance, and his legs looked very weak! I do think Carl Froch was in better physical condition than the first fight but..? It was just the way Kessler seemed weak, his punches looks light aswell........

Nobody needs Froch vs Kessler III. No need for Froch to beat a past prime Kessler a second time.
