Sorry boys, not been ignoring this thread or responses on purpose, been a mad week.

Currently it’s 7am and on a train to Waterford, after Galway went to Sligo, but Sligo was creepy as fuck and not somewhere we could settle. So decided to go back to galway as it’s a cool wee place, been there last two days but it’s nigh on impossible to get a decent house other than commuting from Mayo for an hour every day. The housing crisis in Ireland is real. And that’s us prepared to pay pretty fair top dollar, but the houses just aren’t available.

Waterford never came up before, but we kept hearing little things about it, so looked it up. One thing that stuck out for us is there is only ONE hostel, which means to me it’s not full of backpacking wankers and tourists. Also, one look on letting sites shows about 7 results for Galway, but pages and pages and pages of actual mansions in Waterford for same price.

Honestly we are passed point of caring about what city is like now, as long as there is a supermarket and it’s commutable for jobs, we are going to live out in the sticks anyway, buy a 4x4, get a dog and just cook and fuck for a year, so Waterford is the one.

It’s a shame as Galway is class really but it’s just a tourist and student place.

Oh, as to getting thrown out of Oz, not sure really, went to renew my visa but some rat bag had put in a call to immigration that I am a very violent person and shouldnt be allowed to stay in country, that’s all they told me, and said outgoing is fine but coming back is an issue, and not to bother trying for partner visa or sponsorship. It will be some little rat bag cunt but I’ll find out. Probably a bitter ex missus from UK that’s pissed off I'm finally happy and engaged . So unfortunately I have a permanent mark in my passport for Oz, which is totally unfounded, and they can’t even tell me why.

On the bright side I was in the isolation room at Sydney airport with Non other than COOLIO who was also getting questioned
If you're going to waterford and wanna live in the sticks, I'd say go to Tramore or Dunmore East.

I know both very well. Tramore is a town of about 15,000 people 7 miles from waterford city, on the coast, has a big beach, plenty of supermarkets and decent pubs.

Dunmore East is much smaller, but again on the coast in a small fishing village about 5 miles from Waterford city.

Legend, thanks. Just left Limerick junction now so be in Waterford by 11.30, drop bags off and go straight to the 2 you mentioned. Much appreciated.

That sucks man!
Do they actually have anything to go by? As in you’ve got previous convictions for violence.
Seems like someone just saying “he’s a violent person” should be something you can fight/appeal if it’s just going off of he said/she said scenario

In Winter both places might look a little drab, but come summer both places are beautiful and busier with tourists, especially because they have a fun fair there beside the promenade ( which will be closed now for winter). My folks have a 2nd home in Tramore and I was basically half reared there, so if u have anymore questions about the town let me know.

Absolutely nothing man, and never been arrested or in trouble with law in my life. The Ozzie border patrol are good though I’ll give them that, it was intense few hours and they were insistent I had been arrested. Almost made me confess to something that isn’t true, said they were in contact with home office in UK and everything. I can see now why some people confess to crimes they didn’t commit on US tv, because the shakedown literally shakes you. Just wanted it to be over and go home haha.

They will never not allow me back into the country, as they have no leg to stand on, but I’m going to be subject to this bullshit forever, me and the missus are planning kids ASAP and it has made her cry the thought of me being in questioning at every airport in Australia just so we can take our kids to family in Perth/Sydney.

Cool cool.
We think we'll be right. We try sit down every few months and just collate what we have into our own folder to be ready.

But after the temp submission we don't really have much more substantial stuff to add. They've got all the details of joint accounts, bills, lease etc. All the big things. Mostly we just add in new photos of what we've been up to with small descriptions. Things like "visiting Sam's family" "attending Sam's nephews christening", "holiday back to Brazil together". We add copies of any boarding passes from joint travel, copies of quarterly bills etc. As we start getting more wedding stuff locked in we'll make copies of invites, receipts of holding fees etc.

Though without sending the transcripts of our whatsapp convos there isn't really much more we can do. They already have the entire insight into our lives.

Unless you can think of anything more?

It almost feels like this whole process is to invasive
You're doing everything spot with the collating and what not.

Even though they got all the stuff at the temp stage, provide current docs to show that they're still current. Most recent joint bank statement, bills to the joint address, etc. Think of it as some peanut sitting behind a desk at the immigration department who knows nothing about you and your missus, and you need to convince him that the shit you said 2 years ago is still legit today. Stuff like what you're putting together, photos, proof of travel together and invites are all credible supporting material.

The only time you really need to send them details of your personal messages is when your away from each other like if one of you has had to go interstate or overseas, just so you can show the relationship's ongoing.

Where they ask for two Form 888 stat decs from Aus citizens, try to provide at least four. Whether it be family or mates signing the 888's, the department gives extra weight to stat decs by Aus citizens in support of an application. If you're in a defacto relationship and haven't already done so, you can register your defacto relationship with births, deaths and, marriages. Costs about $40. There's no legal requirement to do so but it adds more weight to the application. If you need an updated will done, send me a pm and I'll have one to you.

Other than that, I think you've got it covered.

They need to have legit reasons for refusals on character grounds and it doesn't seem they do. You could make an FOI request on your file to see what the fuck they're on about. Otherwise just reapply for a visa to reenter Aus and see whether they refuse you or not. If your missus is an Aus citizen looking to sponsoring you, and your visa's refused, she can apply to have the decision reviewed at the AAT even if you're still offshore.

That really is bullshit man! I’m glad you held your ground and didn’t get caught in their bullshit trying to stitch you up.

The questioning will be a nightmare but at least you’ll get in. Plus if your kids are Aussie/dual citizens it will be harder for them to keep you out.

May be worth speaking to an immigration lawyer. I could pass on the details for the one we used. She seemed pretty good.

Thanks man! Great info.

We’ve already registered our relationship. Did it way back in 2016 to help beef up my application for the Brazilian visa.
Done a couple 888’s but we’ll get a couple more!!

Thanks!
