Teams Horn and Tszyu have been negotiating away on this one for a while.

Horn's demand for 60/40 looked like it would be a stumbling block but Tszyu accepted the 40%. There was no disagreement on the venue either. So far, so good.

Until.....Horn now saying he wants a 10 round fight and a rematch clause. But....Tszyu wants a 12 round fight and no rematch clause.

Back to the drawing board...

Within his rights for 70/30. I don't know why Horn would want 10, surely 12 would be better for him?

Starting to get the feeling this fight won't happen next. Perhaps they are just trying to build it up for a later date at the moment?

why would horn want 10 rounds?
Good question. Not sure how keen team Horn are to actually make this fight? Their 'wanting' 10 rounds and a rematch clause could perhaps be aimed at not getting the fight made?

Hasn't this negotiation been going on forever?
Not really. There had been speculation it would be a good match-up for a while. The actual negotiation hasn't been going that long - at least publicly anyway.

When team Horn demanded a 60/40 split I think they, and most everyone else, thought that would be the end of it. But team Tszyu didn't hesitate accepting the 40%.

I admit it already feels like it has been protracted and it appears they have hit a deadlock now because each side has publicly stated they won't shift on the 10 round / 12 round and rematch / no rematch clauses.

All wrong for Tzsyu, he's fought absoloutley nobody, green around the gills and Horn is a dirty mofo who will take full advantage of his inexperience. Go in a different direction team Tzsyu not every Aussie has to fight each other

It's a risk, but I think they could be getting Horn at the right time. And a loss wouldn't be the end of the world for Tzsyu; they could easily build him back up.

Young Tszyu is improving with every outing, but Horn has dog in him the likes of which Tszyu has never seen - as demonstrated in his recent rematch win over Zerafa.

Few gave Horn a chance to beat Zerafa. Everything pointed to a repeat of the first result. Zerafa had size, reach and speed advantages, and the confidence of having stopped Horn the first time.

But Horn is a relentless beast and if they meet Tszyu will find out.

many people writing young zoo off early here.

tim's team accepted the 40/ 60 split.

now horn wants 10 rounds not 12?

come on.

you'd think with all the green kid talk they've jump at any chance to get the fight

its horn doing the running.

tim tszyu has called him and wants it now, like today.

I am definitely getting the impression Tszyu wants the fight more than Horn does.

Heard from a mate (judge that source as you will lol, he hasn't told me where he heard it yet) that the terms have been agree 70/30 for Jeff, 12 rounds and no rematch clause.

Either way that seems fair enough to me.

Jeff well and truley deserves the bigger slice of the pie here. Knocking out Brubaker in a half filled Sydney Convention Centre which was set up to only be used at half capacity even with a sell out and his fathers last name is not enough to justify much more than 30 or 40% max against Jeff.

The round thing is weird. I would have thought Jeff would have wanted the longer fight. Take Tim into deep waters in the late rounds and try to drown him with experience.

Hopefully the fight gets made though. The smart money would be on Jeff I reckon but I wouldn't be surprised if Tim gives him problems, especially early.

Me too.

The thing that gets me is the why.
If it was a case of Jeff just not wanting to stay local and wanting big international fights, you'd think it would be easy to just announce that to the public, Tell Tim he needs to do more than Brubaker, Ritchie, Camilleri and co. That would be perfectly acceptable. But I haven't heard Jeff mention anyone else's name.

Maybe he just isn't up for it after the few battles he's been through recently
