Sorry I said what I said about your parents.

But in fairness you were the one who said they shipped your grandma off to a nursing home when other options existed and after hardly ever visited.

A gift and a curse

Roy was the man though

Roy was one of the main fighters along with Holyfield, Tyson, and De La Hoya that got me in to boxing and kept me in to boxing when I was a kid in the 90s
Absolutely, baring in mind he could have almost certainly had his whole career at 168 yet chose to go up and absolutely dominate there shows you how good he was.

I just wish he would have retired sooner or had not gone up to heavyweight and then gone down to light heavyweight so quickly to fight Tarver. He would have won a clear decision over Tarver if he had not done that.

He should have retired after the first Tarver fight. I understand why he felt the need to rematch, and I understand why he took it, but everything after that was tragic. I always say fighters are incapable of tarnishing a legacy after they have cemented it, but Roy Jones was very nearly an exception to that.

Yeah, good point, he should have retired after Tarver 1 at least.

Or if he really felt the need to fight Tarver that much, he should have retired after their 3rd fight. He should have known that losing 2 of 3 fights to a guy that he could have clearly beaten in his prime was a point of no return

I think going to heavyweight to pick up a belt was the pinnacle of his career, had he retired there or after the first Tarver fight (which was a close but clear victory) then he would have been up there with the likes of Mayweather and Pacquiao, but hindsight is 20/20. It seemed ridiculous to think the most athletically gifted fighter of the 90s would be shot to shit by 35 years old.

There's a lot of science to the idea that losing muscle in the way Roy did to go back down basically ages you years and is hard on your body.

Sucka move that I stole from gamecock
Y'all musta forgot!"

"Will there be another Roy Jones?
Probably not
Stopped Virgil Hill with a body shot

I got hit once clean in that little clip before it went black lol
Which fighter are you Johnstown the black shirt or grey? From what little vid there is to see the black shirt showed confidence, with reasonable hand speed and punching skills, taking it easier on other fighter. Both fighters overweight, grey shirt being more so.
