Joe Ward the Irish amateur standout signed a management deal with Times Square Boxing. Ward's only 25 and is a 3 time European champion and has a bronze and 2 silvers from the world's. Probably won have won them if it wasn't for the Cuban La Cruz.

Very hard to say how this will pan out. He's not the best trainer despite his success and loves the comforts of home. Could be caught between weights too as he's boxed at 81kg since he went senior and probably couldn't make 175 and maybe too small for cruiser. Hasn't signed up yet with a promoter but a big one shouldn't be hard to find as there's not many better amateurs out there and he's very young.

Be interesting to follow his career.

He'll definitely be an interesting one to follow. I don't really follow the amateur scene, but I've known about Ward and kept an eye on him for close to ten years.

Just a shame he never managed to defeat La Cruz before turning over.

I don't think he has the dedication to make it as a pro, hope im wrong though.

Also, he should make 175 fine. He was only a few pounds over the limit as a an amateur and in the pros he will have a lot more time to cut weight in between fights.

Hopefully man. The way he fell apart in that APB fight is a cause for concern though.

Who?

plus, only 25, seems like he's been around for ages.
Never heard of them either. First thing comes to mind is the crowd John Joe Nevin signed with. They're a different crowd but my immediate reaction to them was they're relatively new to this and the last thing Ward needs is to be sitting out for the majority of the year.
