The guy that got robbed by Callum Smith.

Nah.
I just watched that fight. (for the first time) Smith fought badly (Either an off night, or he got exposed) and Ryder was tough, but IMO no way did Ryder deserve a win. Not even a draw, though it was close.

Regardless, I've never seen Smith that lethargic & sloppy.

Ryder seems a good guy, he works hard, and he's been on a good run.

If Canelo is hell bent on fighting in September, and on low balling his opponent, then he could do worse than Ryder.

It's not the fight any of us want, and stylistically it's an easier fight for Canelo than BJS or Smith, but it should be pretty action packed while it lasts.

Highlights package of his super middle fights leading up to the Smith bout.

And the full Callum Smith fight.

Also hope that he can be somewhat competitive and make a name for himself out there resulting in more big fights.

I think there is a good possibility he can make it exciting.

He likes to get inside and let his hands go, he's got a decent engine, he throws some decent combos, and he has also shown a decent dig since his move to super middle.

I can't make a case for him winning, but I think there could be some decent exchanges.

I just watched a few other of Ryder's fights, and I think I'll have to agree with you 100% Ryder is aggressive, relentless, and not without some skill, especially defensively. I no longer think Callum Smith had "an off night," I think Ryder just fought well and frustrated the snot out of Smith. (I still think Smith won the fight, barely.)

Having said that, I don't think Canelo is the type of fighter to get frustrated and start making mistakes, so my prediction won't change, but yeah it could be a very exciting fight.

He's much improved the last few years, and he's usually good to watch. He's also deserving of a big fight.

I'm sure I had him beating Smith, (can't really remember), but I didn't think it was as bad a robbery as some people did.

He's not who we would like to see Canelo fighting, but it's been a very disappointing year in general, and the money isn't there for bigger fights right now.

Jason Quigley 18-1 is claiming Golden Boy have been in touch and sounded him out about fighting Canelo.

This is getting more and more ridiculous.
