Looks like they're Covid-free in NZ, everyone's hugging and shaking hands at the weigh-in, no masks, at the presser they were sitting shoulder to shoulder, this would indicate that they're not testing for Covid either, business as usual over there it seems, it's quite nice to see normality returning.

What a long weigh in, there must be at least 8 fights on that card the amount of fighters I saw weighing in, that Julius Long looks like a problem, I've never seen him before, I was wondering how his opponent thinks he can win, how is he going to get to the chin and actually it looked like a mismatch. Then I checked out Long's record because I never heard of him before and found he has a losing record and has been KOd a number of times already so he must be pretty awful which surprised me given his massive physical advantages over 99% of his opponents. Looking forward to that one just to see.

Main event, both fighters looked well but very friendly with each other, I hope when that bell rings all of that goes out the window, I'm sure it will. I went back and watched some of Fa's fights so I could see what he's got, I like him but I favour Parker, his chin is good and his hands are fast, I think he'll win on points

pretty awful fight to watch.

WBO Rankings -

  1. Oleksandr Usyk
  2. Joe Joyce
  3. Joseph Parker
  4. Andy Ruiz, Jr
  5. Junior Fa
  6. Frank Sanchez Faure
  7. Michael Hunter
  8. Zhilei Zhang
  9. Deontay Wilder
  10. Evgeny Romanov
  11. Daniel Dubois
  12. Fillip Hrgovic
  13. 13. Demsey McKean
  14. 14. Agit Kabayel
  15. 15. Dereck Chisora

Parker sat tightly behind Usyk and Joyce.
I would like to see him in with either Demsey McKean (18-0) or Dereck Chisora (32-10) next...

Doesn't say much for boxing on that side of the globe when a bout between a 7ft 43 year old with wobbly tits & a miniature David Tua was more entertaining than the main bout! Have to give Fa a little credit though he was far more durable than i expected him to be, had Parker down to stop him late but whilst Parker was the more aggressive he didn't really trouble Fa, mind you that's probably because he was in a headlock for most of the fight! 119-109 scorecard was a joke though.

Unfortunately I couldn't stay awake this morning when I woke up so I went back to sleep and missed the live broadcast, I haven't been able to find a replay all day so I figured I'd just come here and read about it, won't bother continuing my search I don't think as by the sounds of it it was a snoozefest. Watching the action on BT Sport at the minute, Tyson Fury will be up next I believe

I just watched the "highlghts" of the fight (such as they were) on da' Toob.
Sure glad I didn't stay up late for this one!

Parker did kind of look like his old self, which is pretty good for Parker but hardly a compliment. He was aggressive and push the action a little, and his body attack was good. But that's all she wrote.

Still painfully one-dimensional and predictable. Still no defense. Still very average power. Still looked gassed by the seventh round.

All hail, the boxing king of New Zealand !
