"I’d love to be able to stand here now and tell you Joshua had a terrible camp or had these injuries but it’s not true. He won fair and square, Andy Ruiz" - Eddie Hearn

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2019/jun/02/anthony-joshua-rematch-andy-ruiz-jr

If Hearn or Joshua backpedal on that down the track it holds zero water as far as I am concerned.

As far as I am concerned Joshua felt the way he did because he was getting beaten.

This is actually bothered me a bit, he is saying this in private in the corner not expecting it to be heard elsewhere and the way he says it, that's a genuine question he's asking?

"yeah but why do I feel like this though?"

I'd like to hear more from AJ about what he meant by that but I doubt he would ever address the question, he's not the type to make excuses and that wasn't an excuse he was making i the corner.

Possibly concussed but this was following a round where he basically just left his hands at his waist and invited Ruiz to hit him.

You're right, he probably had a concussion. Plus those body shots.

I think the fight was going to plan against a game fighter, the Joshua catches him and drops Ruiz with a great left hook. He gets overexcited and gets caught by a few very hard hooks in round three and basically panics and fights like an amateur for the rest of the fight.

He was just looking to get ruiz out of there and leaving himself wide open in the process, I think it was a combination of him never fully recovering from round 3 plus a hurt ego and panic mode. He needed to take round 4 and 5 off and spoil the fight, then get his rhythm back and keep it at long range and do a Wlad impression on him.

Joshua is fragile, for all the muscle he has, he is soft, not mentally! don´t get me wrong here, he is not weaked minded, no.. but physically, his body and head are not meant to be a fighter (and I don´t mean chin), these big muscular guys are like that so many times, there are examples of that in boxing before and in MMA and in kickboxing, so many in fact.

The change in Timezone (has a long lasting effect on your circadian rhythm and physiology in general), the change of climate (affects physiology), the uncertainty about future opponents and the switch in opponent, the pressure to put on a show for his first time in the US, the shock at that tub of lard being an explosive and skilful fighter, the concussion he sustained in round three. Yeah, that might change how you feel just a little bit.
Not discrediting Ruiz, but there were factors against Joshua here.

A guy who gets dropped by Whyte and Wlad, maintains his composure to knock them out in later rounds. Yeah, definitely not a fighter. Holding most of the belts in the heavyweight division, Olympic gold medallist and best resume in the division, despite less pro fights than his rivals and a short amateur career. Yeah he definitely shouldn’t have been a boxer, just not made for it.
Boxing fans can be so pathetic and short sighted, an unexpected loss doesn’t erase all the achievements in the past.
I’m sure people said similarly stupid stuff when Frazier beat Ali, when Buster beat Mike, when McCall best Lewis, when Saunders beat Wlad.
There’s more examples of physical specimens being at the top of the heavyweight division than fat guys, so you have a really dumb argument as well.
Exceptions don’t make the rule, and let’s see how Joshua bounces back.

You didn´t read my post well, mate.
He has the mindset of a fighter, I said that in other post before, he is tough, mentally.
I´m only not sure if his BODY is the proper body for fighting, I don´t know if you ever fought no offense, but you gotta have a body that is truly hard, not meaning muscles, to stand there when someone hits you many times.

Joshua has a lot of muscles but his body is not hard for fighting... maybe. Not mentally, mentally he is tough.
