Luis Ortiz Accepts Joe Joyce's Challenge, Wants Him Next

On Saturday night Joe Joyce called out Luis Ortiz and said that he would like to face him next, and Ortiz has responded to the call out :

"I will enjoy fighting Joyce and will enjoy giving him his first career loss but I want him to remember it was him who called me out. I wasn’t looking for him but again if he let his hype men or manager get in his head and thinks he’s that good and he wants it why wait?"

"I don’t turn down fights. It’s a first for me to get called out for a fight. He doesn’t understand that I really enjoy what I do and this is all I know how to do. This is how I put food on the table for my family so say no more, challenge accepted. Let’s do this."

Tough fight, I think Joyce is a little bit overrated tbh he seems very ridged (even though can backflip) and easy too hit, though he carries power...

Joe Joyce is a conundrum.

He looks genuinely terrible relatively speaking. Like, not even British level in terms of technical skill. He charges forward with his chin in the air, his feet are in the wrong place and his punching form is fundamentally incorrect. He often throws punches with both hands at the same time which is just weird.

This weird style seems to overwhelm opponents though and is strangely effective to date, albeit at a certain level. He has excellent stamina for a modern heavyweight, is a big lump and seems to have genuine belief in his own ability. He’s very strong too and, against modern heavyweights who typically lack conditioning, his physical attributes alone will get him to a certain level. I’m genuinely intrigued to see how he gets on against guys in and around the top 10.

He also seems like an extremely nice young man, albeit one that licks windows in his spare time.

Hehe. Windows. He's just huge and freakishly strong.
I think this fight makes complete sense right now.

Realistically though joking aside AJ gets a bad rap for ducking all the top guys until they’ve been beaten. Outside of fury wilder and Ortiz (the top three) who he’s ducked like the plague whilst they face each other, he’s done a decent job of cleaning up the second tier scrubs like three week carlito takam, joey twelve Parker and shot old Alec povetkin. Also fat novice one armed Dillian whyteleafe although that version of that guy is more third tier than second in my humblest. Still bizarrely touted as one of AJs greatest wins by the sky addicts

That whyte fight was so over hyped. Bar dills rocking him in rnd 2 it was a one sided beat down.
