It’s hard to back Brook against anyone of a semi-decent level who has a good chin as it might only take a couple of decent shots for his eye to go.

That been said Smith’s stepped up to world level on two occasions & has he even won a round?

He’s taken 3 beatings against Canelo, Munguia & in the first Williams fight before the headbutt. There’s an argument he could well be past it as well. He’s been a pro a long time too & his careers completely stagnated under Matchroom.

I’d have to favour Brook on points especially after hearing how the spar went but like I said it can never be a confident pick with Brook due to the facial damage he’s had.

I always back Brook no ponting changing tack now.

I go for Brook by stoppage. Talent wise Brook is on a different level despite losing gave two excellent performances against both GGG and Errol Spence before the stoppages. Both those guys are on a different leauge to the Liam Smiths of the world.

I think as @A Force stated it depends on how those eye injuries hold out. And how much he has left both mentally and physically. I hope he can finish his career in a blaze of glory but maybe I am just being delusional and we might end up seeing a way over the hill fighter this weekend.

Brook is finished, Smith isn't all that but I give him the edge on account of being not shot.

Brook is more talented, but Smith is fresher and hungrier. Reckon he wins be late stoppage with Brook ahead on the cards.

Cant see it tbh, with Hearn saying tonight that his preference is for them to go their separate ways to title shots.

Before tonights fight -

Brook was WBC (#10)
DeLuca was WBA (#7)
Smith was WBO (#3)

Brook picked up a snide WBO belt.

If they don't face each other, what route should they take?

I've not looked at the rankings tbh.

But it's a natural fight, it's been discussed for a while, Smith was there tonight and Hearn is still saying he's rather keep them apart.

That's enough for me to think its highly unlikely to happen.

I hear you.
I want it to happen but unsure if it will.
Both men appear to be going down the WBO route rankings-wise. Leading to Patrick Texeira (WBO).
Charlo (WBC), Rosario (WBA 'Super' & IBF) and Lara (WBA 'Regular') are all with PBC I think.

Unless 1 goes after the WBO and 1 goes after the EBU and they both look to meet after...

Did he just say Liam Williams? I can't understand Brook whatsoever. Anyways, will Williams be a tougher fight? That dude looked ridiculous in his last fight. Makes me think he'd steamroll Brook.
