Guys,
A few years ago I used XBMC on my XBox. It allowed me to watch TV shows and films on my TV for free. No downloading, just streaming all the way. Since then, it's fallen off my radar and I get scammed monthly by Fox, Netflix, etc.
I recently bought a small android TV box that sits next to the TV, is connected to my wifi and allows me to watch just about every film and TV show that's ever been made. Also, if your internet speeds are OK (Oz is a fucking joke), you can watch live TV from just about anywhere in the world - sports, films, general, blah, blah.
Anyone else have one of these boxes? After amassing TBs of films and shit, I rarely download anything these days. It's like Pandora's Box. Anyone else have one??
If you haven't, I'd suggest you get one. They're as cheap as chips - I think I paid $40 for mine. If you're Scottish, you can just install it on your PC/laptop and connect to your TV via HDMI. Also, I cast from my android phone (Kodi is in the Play Store) to a Chromecast in my bedroom.
Here's a tutorial (for those with a PC) that I just nicked from a forum I use....
If you have a old windows computer you can install the Kodi software on it and watch any movie, documentary, sports for free .
Watch the you tube clips and they will show you step by step how to program it . All you are doing is typing in words . You must install a fresh version of Kodi first - https://kodi.tv/download/
Once installed, go to the link below on how to setup Kodi (I think this method is useful to set up your standalone box too) -
Once the above is installed, look at the link below on how to install cCloud tv. Supposedly a very good add on.
Here's a link that shows how to add sports channels.
This fellow on YouTube, Husham Memar, is like a whizz-kid with Kodi and is constantly uploading good tips and advice . When you play a YouTube clip of his, click on his name and it with bring you to the location where he has the rest of his videos . Worth subscribing too, allegedly.
Here is a list of the standalone TV boxes that come with Kodi pre-installed. Find reviews before ordering as some can be shit, or so I hear.
