I get what you’re saying but we are talking about a massive size difference here. I’m not convinced there’s much damage a 8 stone bloke could do to someone double his body weight
It would probably be like when Jay and Simon had a fight on the Inbetweeners mate haha

On Kugan, wasnt he first seen around boxing as part of a security team? Maybe Hatton's?

If you're working for a top notch (very expensive) security firm, would they not check you have something about you at least and maybe put you through some close combat courses at best?
No they just check if you have a close protection security course license.

In the event of trouble Close protection is about grabbing the person you are protecting and running away from the scene as quicly as possible.

Ok, cheers.

I didnt know if the top firms did more.

You put somebody in place who gets embarrassed and that's the end of your business.

I did a regular security course recently about 2 months ago...The old guy who was the instructor (former colonel in the British army ) also owns a close protection security company has worked around the world. And his company also provides courses for Close Protection Security license.

He stated people get the wrong impression from watching movies like body guard.

Although you are given some basic courses in unarmed combat and restraining techniques. The main role of CPS officer is to be alert and aware of any dangers. And have an extraction plan, at the first hint of any potential danger you grab your asset (person you are guarding) and leave.

For example if you are protecting somebody at a conference, you would liase with the event security, they are responsible for policing the event. Your job is only to make sure the person you are guarding is safe and grab then and leave if their is trouble. Let the site security or police deal with the rest.

However many high end CPS firms only take on people who come from a law enforcement and military background. Some clients specifically request that.. In the Middle-east in particular the wealthy arabs only prefer British bodyguards with military or law enforcement. There is alot of money in it as well. At the very highend from what he said you can make £2000-£3000 a day.

There definitely was a lot of money in at one point (and probably still is) mate of mine was picking up a grand a day as a personal bodyguard in Iraq, he’s ex army infantry so it made sense for him to do so.

I think, he was actually offered a £5,000 per day contract to work in Afghan, I’m assuming for that type of money he must have been looking at working where it’s advance dangerous as it gets.... Anyway he knocked it back.

I’m extremely doubtful there is that sort of day rate available. That’s £140k a month. Even at the height of things people weren’t earning anywhere near that much. Since the good days the wages have plummeted.

Size matters. There's a reason why Kugan is so confidently confronting a pro boxer like that.

Or he is like 60% of the population and deluded about his actual fighting ability.
For your own sanity, please don’t turn this into another Katie Taylor thread?

Personally I’d have preferred to see Kugan and Patel “take it outside” and they both get hit by a bus.

A spare tyre round your waist won't help your brain absorb impact or help you dodge punches. In a clinch it would help though for sure.

Watching Kugan try and box is funny enough, love to see him do a session or some Thai sparring like in that boxing for dummies video he did hahahaha

Yeah you're right but here's the thing, we don't know what Patel did or said, but more importantly, let's say that it was for example Anthony Yarde or Dillian Whyte who did or said exactly what Patel did, would Kugan be threatening to cave their head in in public? The only reason he is going after patel is because like I said, the guy is about 7 stone smaller than Kugan. Prince patel weighs less than 10 stone
I heard Patel said something about his Sri Lankan heritage and Patel being Indian there is some conflict
