Someone whose never been hit
Yep first time I was hit I went down without even thinking, I wasn't even that hurt, my instinct was just to take a knee. Learning to take a shot and knowing how to react accordingly is in itself a skill.

I have seen so many of these types of video's the Kung Fu guy always loses badly. Might as well throw in a yoga instructor with a boxer or MMA fighter.

That's Xu Xiaodong, he was a semi-retired MMA fighter and coach when he started exposing these frauds in China. Unfortunately, the Chinese government sees this as attacking their traditional values and now he's persecuted like fuck. His social credit score has been lowered so far he can't even board a plane or buy train tickets. There's quite a few videos of him in challenge matches with kung fu masters, and most of them called him out, not the other way round.

Some old guy in jammies that don't fit. Looks like he wandered out of a nursing home. Fights like it too.

If he could ever fight, then he can't now. No reflexes, no punch resistance and zero flexibility. His kicks were like a 6 year old having their first playground fight.

Any martial art will make you a better fighter than you were if you didn't study it. They will all provide some benefit.

But, some are better than others, and we all have different ability ceilings.

My thought is that most of these over stylised ancient kung fu techniques will be of much less use than modern hybrid styles. Three is just too much wasted motion in them.

I was wondering what happened to him. These wing chun and kung fu blokes are only shadowboxers man. Most of the videos I see of them they are getting rattled by every shot that lands on them. I've no doubt some of them are very skilled but it's like they never condition their body to take punishment.

Can you share some of these vids you watched. I’m intrigued

When I was in high school there was this kid who had been doing Karate since he was little and he had a black belt. Didn't play any sports

He kinda acted like a smart ass a little but overall he was alright kinda but just seemed soft. Maybe 5"11 160.

Anyhow he got into a fight with this kid who was a little jock...played on the football team.

Small... 5"5 maybe 140 tops....no kinda fight training.

He beat the hell out of the kid who did karate.

Of course anything can happen..
But apparently the kid who got beat up was literally kinda slapping. Only mark he left on the football player was a scratch on his neck from his fingernails. Nothing serious.

Karate kid had a nasty black guy that didn't go away for months.

Yeah I remember it happened before the Christmas break and he still had discoloration at the end of the school year.

I always assumed it was some kind of blood issue or nutrition deficiency or something.

I don't know about that. Being taught to throw a punch completely wrong might be more harmful then never being taught to punch at all. Plus it may give you undue confidence you can fight as seen in a lot of these videos. You'd probably be a better fighter doing cross fit and watching boxing videos than 10 years studying tai chi
