I wasn't gonna bother with this show but I'm glad I caught the Babic fight, tremendous shot to end things but Chambers was good while it lasted, I'm not convinced Babic can keep this pace past 6 so I'll be interested to see his progression, let's see how he adapts (if at all) over a longer scheduled distance

For some unknown reason the EURO 2020 highlights programme was cancelled tonight so I did manage to pick up the main event here from the start. I heard the bell go for the start of the 10th, then there were some "technical difficulties let's say" and when I got back to the fight it was over and Matthew Macklin was lambasting the referee for not accepting a towel from the Ritson corner.

They showed a replay but I didn't see exactly when the towel came in though at some point I've seen Gray pick it up and sling it back out. Both corners are aware that only the referee can stop the fight in a British boxing ring so he doesn't have to accept the towel, it's like they can't win the referee's, if they wave it off themselves it's too early, if they give the fighter every opportunity he's not got the fighter's interests at heart. Ritson is a tough man, never went down before the 10th and was fighting back throughout, he never stopped trying but 140 might be too much for him like it was for Broner when he left 135.

Gervonta Davis is next to try his hand at 140 and that could also be a problem, that's not a foregone conclusion at all.

^ yeah will be putting a few quid on barrios, he isn't as proven as Maidana was but sometimes a fighter goes up a weight class too far and it could be the case for the midget tank, or maybe he destroys him easily lol, interesting fight anyway.

Haven't watched this fight tonight but glad the foreigner won, Ritson won by robbery last time i saw him and looked terrible.

Gutted i didn't bet on this, didn't even know it was tonight and that's my fault.

"You can't make a man fight on, it's unethical" - Eddie Hearn on Gray not accepting the towel.

No Eddie, he wasn't made to fight on, he got up from every knockdown after the towel came in. It's his corner that said one more round and then let him go into the 10th, what's the point of saying one more round when he hasn't hurt the opponent in the first 9?
