I think this is a good fight. Also Wardley-Vallily has been rescheduled for this show, and Savannah Marshall gets a 'world' title opportunity.

Josh Taylor ko'd Vasquez 2 years ago and OHara also beat him on points.
Suprised Josh Kelly isn't headlining in Newcastle instead of London...
I didn't see it, but the consensus was Vazquez deserved the decision against Ohara.

It's not a mouth-watering match-up or anything. But I think it's a good fight against an experienced veteran, one who still has something to offer. Vazquez' style will also present something different for Ritson to overcome.

agreed.
But its a massive drop from the Josh Taylor fight that Eddie wanted to make...

Marshall would have been better off on Micks shows on Channel 5.

Shes now fighting a 43 year old with 1 amateur fight, whos never fought outside New Zealand at light heavyweight.

Marshall has said in interviews shes not a super middleweight and makes the weight easy, so a move to light heavy is just fucking odd whilst Shields is all the way down at 154. Fair to say she aint fighting Shields this year..

I didn't even realise it was at light heavy... :sad5

Surely it wouldn't be difficult to get a 168lbs champion over? Why do they have to go to an even more barren division?

I saw him against OHara and Vazquez deserved the decision. Mind you OHara looked absolutely dire, nowhere near the level he Hass been over the past couple of years.

Ah its decent enough. Ritson hasn't been the same fighter for me, at 140.

Crap show overall though.

Ritson said: “We’ve had no time off. We’ve been in the gym the full year training hard and staying ready. I’ve stayed in the gym training like mad waiting for a date to be confirmed. Nothing has really changed and now it’s full steam ahead for October 17th. If we bring our A game then we’ll be very hard to beat and that’s what we are planning on doing."
