Was always going to happen. I remember when the brothers first jumped ship, Liam was asked why he didn't, he said Frank had delivered on his promises to him, in other words, Liam wasn't one of the ones not getting paid so he couldn't break the contract!

cant argue with his time under frank really. they all need boxers so bad now these guys must all be making bank. to sign up any decent boxer now the competition must be so fierce with sky/itv/bt. i bet every fighter over british level os getting offered guaranteed ppv.

get ready for khan v smith, brook v smith ppv.

Frank did a great job with Liam. Liam, despite his brothers jumping ship, showed commendable loyalty. When Matchroom won the purse bids for Smith-Ochieng, he could have seen that as a reason to leave. The same during that dry spell between 2014-2015. In the end, he ended up being rewarded (and then some).

Has age mellowed FW? The Frank of a couple of years ago would have been starting legal proceedings and getting the emails out! Nice touch of class from them both, though. Good to see.
Liam’s management would have played a part in how amicable the split has been. They have many other boxers with Frank and they seem to be working well together.

It makes sense for Liam to move to Matchroom as they have a few easily made decent money fights for him with Brook, Eggington, Fowler etc.

No reason for Frank to get upset. It’s not like there’s much of a reason for him to keep Smith.

Doesn’t sell tickets & sees himself above British level but loses at World Level.

He’d either be farmed off to the States as a heavy underdog with clauses in the contract if he won tying him to the American promoter or Frank would have to build him back up in eliminators & final eliminators over here & lose a fair bit on promoting them.

I don't disagree, but still think the move was always inevitable when his contract was up.
Possibly. But if the only reason liam didn't leave back then is because he was under contract, then he should be bloody glad. Frank did a great job with him and i doubt hearn would do any better

Hearn will no doubt put Brook-Smith on as a PPV fight...

A good fight granted, but not a PPV fight
