Round and about
Had a super tough session early doors involving toes to bar, thrusters, and burpees. Wasn't pretty. Here's today's main. Very simple and cheap. A tin of mackerel in tomato sauce with a handful of peanuts on 30g of rice. :good

My wife's company is assisting in putting on an open house with some realtors and other companies in the area that is a multimillion dollar home in a gated community and I was asked to help with the food. The realtor handling the sale is a friend and she has had my cooking and asked for smoked pulled pork and baked beans to go with it for my wife's companies end of the food being offered.

So, I just got done putting 19 lbs. of highly seasoned pork butt on my smoker and by this afternoon it will be ready to remove and shred. I'll refrigerate it overnight and heat it up again tomorrow while the baked beans cook in the oven and have it all nice and hot for the wife to take to the open house.

From what I understand, other food offered will be cheese, fruit and vegetable trays, various dips and chips, wine, beer, sodas and water and several desserts for people with a sweet tooth.

I will be staying home to watch college football enjoying some cold beers on my sofa and enjoying the peace and quiet. Win/Win

Can't beat the classic "PB&J" sandwich. Or better yet, go with the "Elvis Presley Special" of grilled or fried peanut butter and banana sandwich. Simple to make by putting peanut butter on one slice of bread, mashed bananas on the other slice, put them together and melt a bit of butter in a pan and brown the bread like you would a grilled cheese sandwich.
Was thinking of trying PB and banana. Will try this and report back.
Had the PBB today. I warmed the bread and added a tiny drizzle of honey and some cinnamon. Awesome. :good

Sometimes the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. It's probably bloody delicious. :good

Came across a discarded 25kg sandbag at some roadworks yesterday and made up a homemade training pack using an old army kit bag. Just had a great session with it. Slung down a protein shake followed by some mackerel on toast.

Saw one really odd recipe on a Youtube video recently. Tinned sardines with condensed milk!

Yeah I was like that's not going to work but apparently it's good. I'm going to give it a try and some point, fry the sardines in some cornflour to make them crispy then make a dip with condensed milk and hot sauce. I'm out of cornflour at the moment and can't find any at the supermarkets right now. But once I do I'll let you guys know if it's actually good or as horrid as it sounds lol.
The sweetness of the condensed milk troubles me slightly......but I’d try anything.

Phone camera wasn't cooperating tonight, but we did tomato soup and grilled cheese. Had smoked cheddar, sharp cheddar, parmesean, american, and prosciutto with sourdough. Made two different sandwiches, one with the "pasteurized prepared cheese product" and the other with the rest of the ingredients.
