Tyson losing to McBride hurt and to a lesser extent Danny Williams.

A weird one for me was when Roy Jones got knocked out by Danny Green. I was never a massive Jones fan but to see a fighter of that calibre getting beat like that and the Australian commentary making out like it was some superb against all the odds win was a bit sad.

You beat a legend . . . . . . you become a legend.

I know what you mean about the commentary for those types of fights. I was a fan of katsidis and always found Coyle a bit of an annoying moron, so Nick fucking Halling acting like he’d just KO’d Jesus pissed me right off. Katsidis deserves better than that.

Haye losing to Wlad had me down too. I was shit sick of all these fat fuck heavyweights and Wlad boring people to tears. Haye was a smaller heavyweight like the old days who was always in shape and could knock people out. Basically I believed he'd bring back the prestige the heavyweight champion of the world should have in that people will talk and give a fuck when he's fighting. Nobody outside boxing fans gave a shit about Wlad or the heavyweight division at the time. It wasn't to be.

Sergio vs Cotto was a bad one, Sergio had a severe case of "Comeback Haye-itis" buy Cottos mong fans acted like that was a legit win.

Manny and JMM 4 was hard for me.

Superb fight,Manny fighting pretty near perfect and bang, from nowhere.

Michael Watson against Eubank was a sore one, worse obviously with what followed.Remember watching with the old fella and we willed Watson so fecking hard the whole fight, and the euphoria of him putting Snr down to the opposite and then the stoppage which brought on huge despair.

Plenty more out there but 2 that cut deep at the time.

These defeats all hurt me deeply but probably not as viciously as Barkley KO 3 Hearns. Oof that one had me shook up badly. My mother almost had me submitted to councelling for that.

Hatton vs Senchenko - it was an ambitious comeback for someone like Hatton, was the only timw I had been genuinely pretty upset for a fighter. His promotional companies future also oretty much depended on it

Froch v Groves 1

Wasn't a loss but Wilder-Fury, that draw was bullshit

Ryder-Smith - robbery that will get brushed over with time by Matchroom but that was a robbery

Eubank - Blackwell - watched this live and I was mad with Blackwell's corner for not pulling him out sooner when the fight was well out of his reach
Could see Blackwells head repeatedly snapping back from uppercut from the upper tier, crazy

Morales losing the third to Barerra and Morales losing the rematch to Pac.

Actually Morales losing to David Diaz and Maidana too, both were shit decisions.

Erik has caused me a lot of heart ache over the years. Still love the man though.

Not majorly invested in any particular fighter. But watching Dunne get punked by Martinez in 60 seconds was tough to watch. Also watching McCullough be a walking punchbag to Harrison for 12 rounds. My face was sore after that fight.

Morales put up a good fight against Maidana and won 4 rounds but i thought Maidana was a clear enough winner.

Hatton Mayweather, in large part because I'd traveled over for the fight, and given that Ricky looked competitive for the first half dozen rounds, the way it ended was pretty hard to take. I wasn't expecting a victory, but that was... ugly. Cracking week up to that point, though.

Golovkin Canelo I was gutting for very different reasons - had just under a grand on GGG, and when the final bell rang, I had already mentally pocketed my winnings. Disgusting verdict. Pocket talking or not. I then sent a long, pissy e-mail to the customer care team at... forget what bookies... bemoaning the bullshit draw and demanding my money back, then stomped off to bed. Woke up about midday, and sheepishly logged on to my account to discover... a full refund. Hadn't noticed before, but they were the only bookie on Oddschecker who'd omitted the draw from their betting options on the fight. Lucky, lucky bastard.
