If I was Hearn I would try make Campbell - Ritson at 140, but I wouldn't take it if I was Ritson. He's in the unfortunate situation of being in the weight division with an absolute mass of talent so even working his way to the next title is going to be heavy going. Moving up in weight would mean a similar struggle too imo.
He could probably earn a few quid with a domestic dust-up to against Burns, Selby or James Tennyson and hope that one of the world title belts becomes vacant in the meantime.
Yeah, I think he would be silly to take it tbh. Unless they can wangle it as a vacant title fight.Good fight Ritson massive underdog.
"The judges all had the 22-year-old Mexican-American ahead up until the seventh and final round. Rey Danseco had it 58-56, while Mark Lyson and Glenn Feldman had it 58-55, all for Garcia. Nelson and Feldman gave all the rounds to Garcia, except for the second round, the round in which Campbell scored a knockdown with an overhand left. Meanwhile, Danseco gave Campbell the fourth round, in addition to the second. For some reason, Danseco only gave Campbell a 10-9 advantage for round two, the round in which Campbell scored the knockdown.
“Now I’m thinking, bloody hell, it was probably lose-lose for me anyhow because if I had beaten him – which I would have never gotten a points decision anyhow, not with that scorecard – I would have had to knock him out to beat him,” Campbell said."

Campbell Disgusted With Scorecards in Garcia Bout: 'Bloody Hell, It Was Probably Lose-Lose For Me'
Luke Campbell thought he could hang his hat on the effort he put up against Ryan Garcia in their lightweight fight last Saturday in Dallas, which ended with Campbell succumbing to a seventh-round body shot. But he is having second thoughts after being informed of what the judges scrawled on...www.boxingscene.com
Corrupt. Just shows that anyone associated with Canelo (or other famous moneymakers such as Floyd M), and who is hyped to be the next big thing in boxing, should be avoided. As many have pointed out already, the commentators were extremely biased too. They even made the KD in round 2 sound like something positive in Garcia's favour! Unbelievable to me how one judge could score that a 10-9 round rather than 10-8.
Who wants to fight Garcia now, with such scorecards from a fight that (in my opinion at least) was pretty even until the end?
You are right. It is not Garcia's fault. It is boxing politics and business. And corrupt judges, who wants to stay in the spotlight, travel around and receive gifts etc., and consequently give even rounds to the A-side. We all know how this works. However, for the sake of Garcia's career, there is a limit to how much he can be hyped and get every round, and even a 9-10 round when he is knocked down. Some boxers may not want to fight him now, unless there is extra money on the table, or they consider themselves the A-side and the boxer believes he has a good chance of beating the kid. A more evenly scored fight against Campbell could have made the road forward a bit easier for him and his management. Its not Garcia fault is it. The blame lies with promotors. We have had this discussion before on here. The judges get treated to all expenses hotel foid etc etc
Ritson recent fight prime example it happens in uk as well but the last 2 BT fights show some can be fair. Not defending Garcia but the fight was difficult to score it depends on what u like.
But a 10-9 in round 2 no
Judges are supposed to apply scoring criteria objectively and with integrity. Its not Garcia fault is it. The blame lies with promotors. We have had this discussion before on here. The judges get treated to all expenses hotel foid etc etc
