That would be so gutting if Broner beat him in a rematch, Maidana will get stopped by a bodyshot unless he can somehow get back to prime, after Fury did it I cant rule it out anymore

Christ he looked so out of shape a matter of months after retiring. I can't see him being able to return to the full force that he once was.

There apparently is always a market for watching Broner getting beat up

I'm really surprised by this he will need 6months in the gym and even then I think he will get exposed at top-level.If he was a boxer then he may readjust easier but he's all-action style. He physically can't be the same with such a layoff and weight gain.

Why is this surprising ?
I called this in the day he "retired", it is here in some thread.

He is not necessarily broke, it´s not that.... but fighters generally have family, and fighting is the only income they can get... and the more money you have the more you expent, the more you need, he is not even 40 years old, too young to stop the income forever.

And I don´t blame him.

Even in his prime, he would gas at the end of tough fights. He's goong to need a lot of time to get into the kind of shape he needs to be in.

Heavyweights seem to be able to get away with that kind of stuff. I don't think foreman started boxing until his 20s, which would never happen for the lower weights

he can become the butterbean of the welters, like 4 rounds fights kind of...
i don't blame him for trying to cash some money, but he won't compete at the highest level and thats where the big money is.
