Murray was exciting as reading your posts.

Exciting moments prob going to Argentina to fight Sergio Martinez. That took some balls the fight with GGG another highlight.

He massively overachieved in his career should have won 1 world title. I used to be fan and found him down to earth then he joins Matchroom and turns into a cock. After Rosado fight I had zero time for him.

On the flipside if he had a promotion like Matchroom at the start of his career who knows how is career would have unfolded.
Tragic Oliver Harrison died. Hope he has a good retirement and has some money tucked away. Will surely get a few quid for boxing analysis

1 huge positive about Martin Murray. He is a great example on how boxing can be used to rehab offenders. If he had more power he could have achieved so much more.

I think ant man summed it up. Got the best out of his abilities but I don’t think I’d ever go on YouTube & look to rewatch a Murray fight.

In terms of excitement it was all downhill after prizefighter.

I believe he defeated Martinez in Argentina & was robbed but I also think in hindsight that he probably kicks himself that he didn’t throw caution to the wind with Martinez coming off knee surgery & him later showing how good his chin was against Golovkin.

Never understood the claims of robbery against Sturm or Abraham. I thought they were both close but clear losses. I think he was quite fortunate to get a draw against Sturm & he only got it because of the outcry over Macklin been robbed against Sturm in Sturm’s previous fight.

I think that lack of an extra gear always frustrated me with Murray, he could be in ascendancy of a fight, or things could be in the balance but he would never step it up, to this day I don't know of that was just his level or whether that was application on his part (probably a little harsh). Solid fighter though, I was a fan up until the AA fight when I grew weary of the same old storey of close fights that he couldn't quite win.
