I've particularly enjoyed Nelson giving his 'it only takes one punch' thoughts on the fight. They are already trying to give it a spin like its remotely competitive when anyone with even the most remote boxing knowledge should be laughing at how much of a mismatch this is.

I won't be buying, obviously, but I will watch it on YouTube the day after to see Mayweather knock that Irish gimp from pillar to post for as long as he can take it.

I'm not overly bothered either way. I would have folded at the last second but I'm away that weekend so it's all the same.

The amount of people complaining about the fight even happening should mean that they aren't buying it anyway so it shouldn't really matter.

Wonder how much they paid for this. When they are losing events in all other major sports they cover, you'd think they would be more bothered about securing the long term content they show.

Now we get weeks of trying show it could be close. At least Macklin is trying to say he has to go all out from the off or gets battered instead of making out he has a chance over 12 rounds

There's no chance of Sky losing money on it that's for damn sure, obviously this board has some hardcore boxing fans who want no part of it but the casual market is absolutel nailed on 100% to buy this fight. It will probably break Sky's record for a one off PPV event so it's not like it's going to effect their overall investment in Boxing this year or anything.

You know what would be awesome? This would never happen but, if Hearn or Smith came out after the fight and basically said "Look, we know that was a spectactle fight, we've made a record amount of sales for it and we're going to invest that money back into Boxing and bring X,Y and Z international fights for Sky Sports in return". Imagine that

How Macklin showed up.....

Barney Francis "We have got the Mayweather v McGregor fight. Get somebody Irish to show up for the accouncement"

Adam Smith "We don't have any Irish pundits"

Barney Francis "What about Finbar?"

Eddie Hearn "He hates us"

Barney Francis "What's the closest thing we can get?"

Ed Robinson "Well Matthew Macklin is from Birmingham, speaks like a brummy but thinks he is Irish"

Adam Smith "What do you mean thinks he is Irish?"

Ed Robinson "Yeh he calls himself Mack the Knife and has the Irish National Anthem before his fights"

Barney Francis "WTF!"

Ed Robinson "Yeh it's actually pretty common for people to pretend they are Irish. And the Irish will accept them as well"

Eddie Hearn "So weird"

Adam Smith "True. So get Macklin?"

Barney Francis "Yes"

Eddie Hearn "Get him to wear one of those Guinness Hats"

Adam Smith "Great idea"

It's the standard ppv price over here anyway. It's going to be fuckin massive. If a fight is big enough no one will care about what time it's on at. I don't know if I'll buy it or watch it a mates house yet but I'm planning a big day of boozing.

At least Macklin gave something of an honest opinion in the studio there. Johnny Nelson must be fuckin dying inside with him having to be the bloke who thinks McGregor will win this.
