Yeah, that was a big mistake, who ever was advising him needs to take some responsibility there, too. There often comes a time when an athlete outgrows their team, Horn has done so, staying around for loyalty’s sake is being disloyal to oneself. A good team with a fighter’s interests at heart should recognise their own limitations as coach, manager etc. and help the fighter move on to evolve for the better.
Horn was a world class welterweight. I don't see him being a world class middleweight.

Not sure who's logic it was to jump two weight divisions? But it wasn't sound.

Yes, for the money on offer to fight Mundine it made sense. But to stay there?

Horn's corner are getting some shit thrown their way for not throwing the towel in earlier.

I actually agree with the criticism. Horn took an absolute pounding in that corner in the end and it was inevitable it was going to happen long enough previous that they could, and probably should, have pulled the pin.

Seeing the battering Horn took and then watching him surrounded by worried faces in that corner for a long time, I was worried a tragedy might have just occurred.

I think Horn’s team had done well to get him the world title but had shown they’re in over their heads with the Crawford fight.

I 100% agree that the fight should have been stopped earlier, they deserve the criticism they’re getting.

Horn now needs a traditional boxing trainer and more experienced boxing manager and advisor.

I really only see Horn getting knocked around if he campaigns against anywhere near the top level at middleweight and he doesn't come across as the type of guy who wants or needs that kind of ending.

If he took the money and ran I would be really happy for him. He won a world title. Made his millions, go live happily ever after.

I really liked Zerafa's walk out music. Anyone know what it is called and who it is by?

Something about a house of pain or something?

On the night the size difference wasn't that pronounced. Horn was probably still the stronger and certainly more aggressive of the pair.

Zerafa used his reach advantage not so much by jabbing away from outside but by landing power punches from outside. Whenever Horn got inside to rough things up Zerafa clinched him.

Horn left his chin hanging out too often and Zerafa was accurate in punishing him for it.
Horn looks pudgy, though. Zerafa is built solid. I need to see the fight to make a better assessment, by the way.

Interesting comments by Rushton :

“’We’ve got to sit sown and have that long, hard talk and say exactly what does that look like, diet-wise work-wise and really put the effort in,” Rushton said.

“If it’s going to be at middleweight it means we’ve got to change the body structure a little bit and not eat pizzas and drink Coke.

“Middleweight to me doesn’t mean that you eat whatever you want, it means that you’ve obviously got to be very disciplined.. I think Jeff realises, you’ve got to have that lean muscle mass, at middle and you’ve got to be a ripped middle, which means a lot of hard work if you want to go that route.”

So he's pretty much saying the didn't actually have a sound plan in place to bring Jeff up to middle. Just let him eat himself out of Welter and Light Middle.

Amateur hour at Team Horn if that's the case

Not sure that the blame lies with Rushton for what Jeff ate? The fact he seems to know Jeff was eating pizza and drinking coke isn't flash though.

So what's next for both Horn and Zerafa.

Zerafa gets Jeff's shot at Bryant or whoever it was?

Horn perhaps a tune up easy touch or two then Tim Tszyu?
