OMG, what a fight!

Impossible to pick a winner.

Both fighters have improved a lot in the last few years.
Berchelt's defense has really improved, as we saw in the Sosa fight.
Eddie Reynoso did wonders with Valdez, teaching him how to head slip, and also how to slow down, be patient , and vary his timing.

Valdez is probably the harder puncher, and maybe slightly faster hands, but Berchelt has that huge reach, and a deadly body attack from way outside.

I don't even know who to root for. Hate when that happens. lol.....

who do you got people, any boxing fans around here and excited?
This is the best fight of the year so far on paper, can't wait I will be trying to watch this one live but it starts at 3am so I'll see how I get on. Just watched the weigh-in, the fighters look tremendous I love them both but I'm picking Berchelt, he'll be massive tonight and I think he'll get the decision but elsewhere I'm seeing a lot of votes for Valdez Jr so I think the community is pretty divided, maybe you could put a poll on this thread so we can check what CHB thinks?

Who you got?

Im on valdez's side but i think el alacran gets the w, he looks in better shape plus has all the habilitities in his advantage, on the other hand valdez is pure heart, has fought with a broken jaw in his previous bouts, and well i think berchelt d ve to work for the w and aint gonna be a walk in the park

Oh yeah, by no means an upset if Valdez wins and extends his unbeaten record, what a great fight we're in for whatever happens the fans are the winners, too bad it isn't in Mexico in front of a crowd

Say, I have a technical question:

What type of shot would you call that punch?
IMO it's not a check hook, even though Valdez did use Berchelt's momentum against him, as Valdez didn't step outside. Having his right foot planted generated more power. (like Cotto used to do.)

So maybe a pull counter? - But normally (AFAIK) a pull is done with the right hand.
So maybe a slip counter? - But normally a slip is done by moving forward.

Also, it was thrown from so far down that you could call it a shovel hook, so maybe a "pulled slip shovel?"

Great performance by Valdez I was incredibly impressed on how disciplined he was, at times I was expecting him to just go to war with Berchelt but he resisted the temptation huge credit to Reynoso for that as well of Valdez himself of course.

I have to say though the International commentary ruined it a bit for me Chrystina Poncher is really good as a host or a reporter but her commentary is the shits her screeching hurts my ears.

Looks like a simple duck and counter left hook, which carried extra momentum because Valdez was lunging wildly in.

Fair play to the ref too, his reflexes were great, almost caught Berchelt on the way down

I'm watching a rerun of the card now over on Freesports and just like the broadcast I caught on Sunday they're only showing 2 fights, Flores Jr vs Velez and then the main.

Didn't Artur Akavov's fight go ahead does anyone know and if so was it on TV? I can't find any trace of it and I can't remember the name of his opponent
