Mikey doesn't want it. Lomachenko is the better puncher in this fight as well. Mikey has never shown the one punch power that Lomachenko has shown against Martinez, Linares, Crolla.

Have to say this fight has lost some of its shine to me since Mikey lost to Spence. Still would love to see it, but Loma wins handily IMO.

Mike, if he even goes back to 135, will take about 12 months to recover fully from the schooling he just took from Spence.

It will probably be like Brook vs Spence, Mikey coming down in weight after a beating he wont make weight that good and his body will fall apart, Loma is starting to move less and really go for the stoppage nowadays I just hope he gets an elite opponent one day soon

I know Loma doesn't want to go past 135, but a catchweight of 138 makes pretty good sense here.
If this was Garcia's next fight and assuming Loma wins. Just how much credit will be attached to it? I'd imagine it'd be brushed off as Garcia being drained from going up so high and then cutting on top of Spence already having given him a beating.

This isn't to knock the fight happening. I'd rather it happened next than not at all. But I have to admit, i'd like Garcia to have a fight at 140 at least before a 138 catchweight with Loma.

Why would a catchweight even be in the conversation? Mikey was fat at 140 and 147, it’s not as if he was solid muscle at 147. He should have no problem making 135. He has a title at 135. Let’s not make excuses for Mikey.

He went up one weight division higher than he had been before. He was fat at 147, and he didn’t take much damage. That is why Mikey took that Spence fight, for the excuses that he knew fans would make for him.
Loma shouldn’t get much credit for beating Mikey simply because Mikey is not that good and never has been.

In his mind, he isn't a lightweight anymore. This is what happens when you eat yourself out of multiple divisions. Sticking to 135 would be the excuse that Mikey needs in order to avoid the fight.

Has Mikey said he’s not a lightweight anymore? If he doesn’t go back to 135 I don’t see the fight being made.

? He fought safely to avoid damage, he would’ve been okay to fight the next week.
I meant moreso the commercial / mental damage he took from the fight.

I don't see them entertaining a 50-50 fight (or odds below that) in the immediate future.
