What I don't understand about Morrissey is, how can you be a multi-millionaire miserable emo kid for 30 years? Surely at some stage he would have lightened up a bit, looked around and realized he's travelled the world, had some incredible experiences, has millions of fans, made a ton of money and carved out a legacy in his field?

A good insight into his personality is his love of Chrissie Hynde.
Now in my pre-wanking days Hynde was an early crush of mine but now I know what a cunt she is,and the reason Morrissey gives for being so fond of her goes along the lines of them being in a pub together, and a fan came up and started telling Hynde what a big fan she was.
Hynde told the bird to fuck off in a very degrading way and Morrissey claims that is the main reason he is so fond of her.
"I love Chrissie Hynde because she was extremely rude to an excited fan."

Plus Johnny Marr cited one of his main reasons for quitting the Smythes being that Morrissey was trying to impose his love of Cilla Black on the music.
"I didn't get into this to be a fucking Cilla Black covers band"
Morrissey's take;"it was a business disagreement"

I'll add one more and say that mentally, he's never left the 90's; it's like he's living out an episode to Dr. Who only not as interesting.

Where are the fucking Daleks when you need em'. :sad5

I meant the Bill Bailey that changed his name mate.It was an in joke with me and @Hands of Iron and I was suggesting he would do a far better job of Bho-Rap.
I get what you're saying though. It's like that short clip of Angus and Mal playing "You Shook Me...." On the Stern show with acoustic guitars and Angus plays the solo(before Beano cuts in too soon) perfectly.
I just think Edge doesn't claim to be a virtuoso, and if better players like White and Page are happy to make a doc with him,it's acceptance of a certain level.
But again,I understand your point.
Sorry,

My mistake I thought you meant the musician, comedian, presenter writer etc, etc, bald on top and long hair at the sides Bill Bailey.:rofl

Worked on an all day gig a few years back over here, and it was " organised " by a local radio station, ( outside broadcast ) and the sounds were all over the shop. This guy pitches up from the audience and asks if he can have a look at the set up, and tinker about with things. In less than 5 minutes he has the whole rig sorted and sounding fine. Turns out he had been a sound guy on a Pretenders tour, (amongst others ) of North America, and we all got chatting to him. He said they were all losing weight and feeling lethargic after a couple of weeks with no meat. So they purposely lost sight of her tour bus, and pulled in to a burger joint. Apparently the upshot was she made the driver of the bus she was on turn back, marched in to the burger joint, and sacked everyone she saw eating meat.

Never knew any of this stuff about Chrissie Hynde! I do know she hung around the early UK punk scene & (reading between the lines) shagged everyone from Mick Jones & Paul Simenon of The Clash to Steve Jones & Sid Vicious of the Pistols in order to earn some street cred for herself, the dirty hooer!

Stop there. You don't understand so don't claim you do. It was all an act- a persona. Secretly inside he was laughing.
And the man never has to tour again but he is always on the road because he loves it. Even a cancer scare didn't stop him from playing to his fans.
Shame.

And yet almost every live performance (not saying all) and TV appearance up until '83 has her dripping in leather. She's got some fucking neck.
And I read an interview not too long ago where she obviously took a dislike to the questions so started rhyming off items that she knew a journalist at a certain level would not be in a position to buy saying "Do you like ...." and when the girl would comment on the exorbitant prices Hynde said "Maybe one day you'll be able to afford them all like I can"
A horrible cunt of a woman, but I still can't forget that she was the one who shaped my attraction to female rockers.
But fuck meeting her.Talk about not being able to enjoy songs you've loved ever again?

You know she has daughters to Ray Davies and Jim Kerr (who she left Davies for) don't you mate?
She also did an album a few years ago with a young musician she was shagging(forget the name but you'd get it easy on Google)
But she'd be a cold fucker! The type you could develop feelings for and then she'd come up and tell you she's just going up to her room to fuck the brains out of some guy she's got on her arm.
And then accuse you of being a bitch for being unhappy about it.
I still would do that 79-82 version if I could get a night or three with her though.I'd just make sure I left my feelings at home.

I just got in from a Fleetwood Mac concert. They were brilliant, best I have ever seen and if I get chance I will go again.
Aw,lucky you!:twisted
What about when Lyndsay does his solo "Big Love" and makes it sound like there are three guitars going on....and fucking singing!:yikes

The co-ordination needed for that is beyond 99.9% of the population.
When I was MIA for a couple weeks back in South Dakota to handle all of my dad's funeral arrangements and shit I ended up taking the rental for a drive and started smoking sativa, just reminiscing and pondering my life for miles and miles out of town through the country side... was predominantly listening to Fleetwood Mac. Music is definitely made for cruising. The nostalgia was almost a little bit too much. Reminded me of road trips we used to take without really a care in the world of where we ended up. I fucking miss that guy bad.

There's no feeling like the one you get when a brilliant song comes on the radio in the car.
It's not the same as a CD or download where you know what's coming.

Just you tubed a clip of her playing in hyde park last year, still wearing knee length boots, perhaps they are synthetic, or whatever. If not she is a hypocritical cunt, as well.

Oh,they'll be Stella McCartney no-animal-harmed mate.
That's another thing she boasted about being able to afford.Like her vegan eaterie that went tits-up but of course it was everyone else's fault.

I can actually hear her telling the driver of that tour bus to take the next exit if he wanted to eat that night from the story you told earlier.
And roadies are a hardy bunch.Shows how hard graft that bitch must be.

Still here, just not bothered with arguing the case for Morrissey against a bunch of dunderheads...I've been doing this for 20 years...it gets a bit old. Music, as you should know, is subjective. I don't like Paul McCartney, you don't like Morrissey (not you specifically, C), whatever you say about SPM isn't going to change my mind, whatever I say about Macca isn't going to sway a Beatles freak. Enjoy what you enjoy...

I saw the Pretenders at Sheffield Leadmill in 93 or 94...my mate played bass for them (Andy Hobson)...they were exemplary...my only beef with Chrissie Hynde was her lack of boobs, aside from this she was flawless, the band were great...good gig.
