Most under-appreciated film of the 1970's

  • CHB will be closing down as of 31st July 2021. It's been a brilliant experience to run the website for the past 9 years, however it's time for me to move onto different projects. Thanks to every single person involved, from staff, former staff, posters old and current. All support means more than anyone knows. Thanks for your understanding.

Shame about the forum split too,Suppose that didn't help.

The Horror Express aswell what a thread,Dawn of the Dead is getting the 4k treatment by a UK firm called Second Sight,Dont think the release date is far away now...

Do you know of any decent film forums out there?
Forum split? Missed that I suppose?

Era of the forum has ended IMO, majority of ppl. now post on social, that includes film and filmmaker discussions. Perhaps under articles but even that's dead. I loved the IMDb forums, gave and received many recommendations and had good laugh about filmmakers posting furiously under alts (like Frank D'Angelo, idiot director of the awful Sicilian Vampire). Also, good days at ESB, some nice ones at CHB. But it's happening all over.

It's all kinda hazy now, but I seem to recall a time when this forum was down. When it came back it seemed like everyone had deserted. Then it slowly started coming to life somewhat. It's still pretty slow, but at least it's active now.

I always had doubts about why I was posting about film on a boxing forum in the first place. Surely not the best place for this discussion, but it was never by design. I posted here because I followed boxing and this forum was a way for me to stay on top of that. That's all. I have never been much of a forum poster outside of that.

I post at blu-ray.com. I don't recommend it as a film forum. Honestly, I can't stand most of the posters there. They just whine constantly. I'm there for the same reason I'm here: to keep track of things in development.

I've been looking forward to Second Sight's release of Dawn of the Dead. Even more exciting is that they have plans to release George Romero's Martin. Now there's an under-appreciated gem from the 70's. It's never been released in high def, so this is a long time coming. I'll be picking up both releases from Second Sight, for sure.

Is it related to the famous Jack Nicholson movie, Hells Angels on Wheels?

Also, have you read Hunter S' Hell's Angels book? Good one, that, though content is obviously debated by the Angels.

Nope, no relation to Hells Angels on Wheels. Or Hells Angels. Or Hells Angels in Vietnam. Or Hells Bells. Or Angel Unchained. Or Wild Angels. Or Devils Angels. Or Angels Hard As They Come. Or Jimmy Cliff's The Harder They Come. Or Werewolves on Wheels. But it's probably better than all of those. Except Werewolves, that's a tie at least.

Nope. Haven't read Thompson's book, but I probably should.

The Hell's Angels chapter in New York recently moved from way downtown off 2nd St. up to the Bronx. Their new headquarters has already been shot up. Guess they're not being welcomed with open arms.
