Yeah - I didn't know that was you, but have enjoyed listening to you. Yourself and the host (Can't remember the name) had some good debate on the fight, praise where its due, criticism where it's due, and having a laugh in the process. As per others, Ainzy is just terrible to listen to. I get you shouldn't take it too seriously, but he doesn't even do Hating very well. Just says 'Fucking' every other word, with the occasional maggot thrown in to mix it up. I'm sure he's a good bloke in person.

Possibly due to personnel, but enjoyed this weeks episode more than I have done in a long time.
Cheers for the feedback.

I've never listened to the shows back because that's just weird (& a bit sad) - my general thought was the post fight pod immediately after AJ Wlad was terrible.... I was in a daze & it was all very raw

The one we did on Tuesday has received positive feedback... I didn't know we was gonna do a round by round breakdown or I would have made some notes. Carpy (the host) kinda sprung that on us. He's a good guy, very balanced.

Definatley think the big fights deserve that kinda breakdown & I imagine we'll start doing that more regular

Its all just a bit of fun, I enjoy chewing the fat about boxing & none of us are trying to change the world.

Believe it or not, Ainzy is quite keen to make the show a bit more professional. Kinda trying to find a happy balance between the Shep days & the show just being a free-for-all.

Nah keep it as it is. That's the appeal.

Yeah lose Ainsy and think Cal is other pointless one. Get more of Si and Dewi - theu seem to know more about boxing and have proper contacts. Ainsy saying "Mental" and "fucking maggot" and well as soon backward EDL, UKIP views are offputting and detracts from the good contributions.

A bit of structure would help, and can be funny which a looser structure helps.

Yeah I don't expect any podcast to be a love fest, or anything too serious. I just have a thing against people hating for the sake of it (In the same way I have a thing against the Matchroom/Toe-to-Toe soapy titwank)

The round by round was cool - Enjoyed it. Not for every fight as you say, but definitely added to the pod.

Yeah your final line makes sense - I listened to a couple in the Shep Days, and I have listened to a couple where Brian has hosted and it's been chaos. This weeks one, plus the post-fight, was some of the best stuff I have heard from NBP - But fully appreciate everyone wants different things. I suspect more of your listeners prefer a hate-fest, and that i'm in a minority. Personally listening to people like Ainzy, Cal, that Russ chap on the Nuthouse etc really puts me off. But each to their own.

Either way, I'll go out of my way to listen to next weeks, whereas previously I would only bother if I happened to have a lot of travelling that week and was running out of things to listen too. Oh, and the post-fight pod was really good, so no worries there.

You have the patience of a saint on this Ward/Kovalev business

Although I must say I really enjoyed the below, at an Hour and 15 of this weeks episode

"There's people who can't wait for Golovkin to lose. Waiting to say he has been exposed"

"They are desperate for him to lose. It's really sad, because Golovkin, what more do you want. A guy who knocks everyone out, and doesn't get caught on camera with strippers etc. A nice guy who knocks everyone out. And people all want him to be knocked out so they can be proven right, and get some credibility"

Replace Golovkin with Joshua, and you sum up most of the panelists on that Pod.

I really wanted to cut loose on Kovlaev .............. I do believe that Kovelev "kinda" quit & wanted out but it wasn't a hill I was prepared to die on.

As for GGG, I am picking Canelo beat him but I don't get why people feel the need to pick a dog in this fight. Its ok to like both guys and not be bothered who wins

I was with a lot of what you said. I also had Ward winning the first fight, albeit from only one viewing, however fully accepting that there were so many swing rounds, of which I gave most to Ward. I have zero issue with anyone scoring for Kovalev. 73% of the media scored it for Kovalev, but 25% did for Ward, so we are hardly the only people who scored it that way. And I had it 114-113 with many rounds that were up for debate.

I couldn't put my finger on why I gave Ward more credit that the majority did in the first fight, and the second fight showed me - And your the only other person I have seen who spotted it (Albeit I have been away so not been looking around much). Whenever they went inside, Ward would duck down, and Kovalev would throw to the head, and invariably miss or get blocked. Whenever Kovalev would duck down Ward would land to the body or pivot round for a better angle. At range I think Kovalev was the better man, but the intelligence in the inside game was all with Ward. There was one round particularly where Kovalev just kept doing the same thing every time Ward ducked down and it was frustrating to watch

I also agree that Kovalevs image of being a hard fucker took a hit. He didn't like it when it didn't go his way. He hasn't been exposed as he still ruins 95% of the division, but he didn't quite live up to his billing on this one.

(Caveat: I can't stand Andre Ward and think he's an insufferable prick, and really wanted Kova to Ice him)

You were also completely right on the whole 'A fight is going a certain way' business. Similar to my earlier post today, people use certain arguments when it suits them. Although fuck it, we all do it to an extent.
