Farage seems pretty influential with regard to Brexit, but has he ever been elected to the UK Parliament? Or is his European Parliament seat the best he has done? Over here in the US it is hard to understand why he has a lot of influence yet currently he isn't in the Cabinet or the UK Parliament? Seems like one of the big parties would want him and his influence.

His influence has grown from him addressing the issues the others won’t touch - the real pressing major ones basically

From my standpoint as an outsider to UK politics, he seems like a decent guy, a good speaker, and that he wants what he sees as good for the UK. He is like a more refined version of Donald Trump. A true nationalist (not a racist nationalist, simply a guy who puts his nation first). Do you think he has a chance of ever becoming a PM?

No. He has never even been elected to parliament.

He works more as a pressure group/special interest party than as someone who could actually lead or be elected.

He couldn't get a majority in the UK 2 party system.

Thanks!

I am somewhat ignorant of UK politics, but I like what I see of Farage (which is fairly limited here in the Colonies). He has a pretty good sense of humor for a politician.

No problem.

I voted the other way, so I am not a fan. But you can't argue with what he achieved.

Without the pressure he put on the conservatives there might never have been a brexit referendum.

No chance of that as all major parties hate him.
