I like this fight. From the BBC:

Carl Frampton is set to make his comeback from injury against Isaac Dogboe in California on 30 November.

Good fight. Both had some losses recently, Frampton is old, Dogboe is small. Winner should get a decent fight out of it.

I don't think the catchweight is an issue. Frampton is a small FW who in no way should be struggling to make weight. I don't think the weight will determine who'll win this one. Two explosive guys. It's going to be a fun watch.

Even though he struggled against Warrington, Frampton knows how to deal with pressure fighters. I see him winning a competitive decision, although I wouldn't be surprised if he caught Dogboe late on for the stoppage.

But how much does Frampton have left? And Dogboe after those two punishing losses? It's definitely an interesting one.

In his most recent TKO podcast Frampton confirmed the fight had been discussed, but claimed it had not yet been agreed.

He was having a medical appointment to review the progress of his hand, and would have a better idea what his next steps would be after that. He obviously couldn't set any dates until he knew if he would be fit.

He also said a couple of other opponents had been discussed who he would also happily fight depending on money etc.

Dog needs a few confidence building fights next. He took two really bad beatings. Frampton wins this easily. Not a fight to get interested in for me.

From Dogboe to Luis Orlando Del Valle...

"...In the same article BoxingScene.com also reported that former two-division champion Carl Frampton would appear in the co-feature fight against an opponent to be announced in the near future. We have now learned that his opponent will be hard hitting veteran Luis "Orlandito" Del Valle (25-3) of Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Sources close to the situation said that the deal could be finalized by the end of the week."

Disappointing if true. Particularly after all the good opponents mentioned.

Hopefully recovery goes well, gets this out of the way, and manages a few more big fights before hanging them up.

Oh. Further mystifies me as to how he landed this big contract. His prime is looking shorter and shorter with each month that passes.
It's as if they didn't have a secondary plan if he, somehow, lost the Warrington fight...

The potential Dogboe bout was a step in the right direction. But these match-ups against B and C-level opponents is doing nothing for him.

Yes quite, Warrington ruined a lot of plans with his 2018. Trouble is, all this fight does is let Frampton age a bit more, and he gains no credit from a win here and a loss would be a disaster. He's 32 already (and isn't this up at super feather, for some reason?) so I just literally don't see the point of this.
