Once, I was fit, young and felt like a god. Since then, apart from the odd few months it's been a slightly different me. Actually my mid/late twenties were pretty damn good. Right now and for the past year or so it's been general malaise in to me now NEEDING to get fit. Over that period I'd had several stop start attempts, a good couple of weeks here and there but too many stop starts due to work, injury and will power.

I was meant to start training hard in January, in typical fashion I didn't. Illness. February. Illness. March. Laziness. Averaged one work out a week this period.

April. I kick start my life. End of March really.

I'm not going to takes pics. I'm just doing this as self motivation and to gauge where I am through out the year if I keep it up. I have a couple of personal goals attached to this that I may write about.

Also want to keep a slight track on diet as well as my views on my training and results. Mainly as a way of trying to improve and showing how I can improve.

Wednesday, Early gym session. Great session too. Worked to my limit. Absolute shattered when I was done. Not heavy on the weights though managed a full general workout and did a good distance too.

Followed it up with fruit through out the day. Jacket potato with beans main meal, had a thin chicken light on cheese loaded veg pizza slice post workout. Protein shake pre workout.

Thursday. Ate well most of the day. Started having a big bowl of porridge for breakfast recently. Watched a movie late on and fucked up a bit by eating a bunch of sweets.

Friday. Ate well. Porridge, fruit and small pizza slice to keep me going. Fast paced gym session due to time limit. Did really well on the weights. Again not much weight. Felt really good after. Seasoned chicken breast and quinoa/rice main meal. Small bowl of whole grain low sugar/salt cereal late on.

Saturday. Out at football. Ate OK. Two chicken sandwich for dinner. Lean beef chili main meal.

Nice one mate! Look forward to seeing this thing competing to stay at the top of the page with my thread, haha... I've had a shit week since the extreme 4 week carb depletion, but I'm back on the wagon again tomorrow!

Had some decent cardio training and spent plenty of time outside, but no gym work which is my real aim. Nice to be ticking over rather than stop starting. Always difficult when my kids are off school as it interrupts my training routine.

Not going to get anything done til weekend which is Easter so chocolate eggs galore in the house so I'm pretty much fucked if past years are to go by. I have done OK in not being tempted to just snack and when I do its fruit or other healthy stuff, not crisps, chocolate or biscuits. Need at least one gym session over the weekend and to pick my training up hard next week.

You ever thought about getting some bits for your home mate?. Ie. A basic styled TRX from Argos which is like £19 or something and a bench with freeweights etc?.

I've been riding to work but eating more now :lol:. So I've starting using the free weights are home and doing complexes as I cba to go gym out of work hours and wait on weights etc.

Only thing I miss is the pylo boxes/battle ropes and barbells for my deadlifts etc. Then again I work in a gym so I can do that when I've got a chance..

I have no where practical to use as a home gym or have exercise equipment in. Eldest kid has the spare room and though we have a very good sized garage we are having problems with the land lord about its use, likely moving soon enough. Hoping the next house will have space for some decent stuff.

I have a few weights, hard to get anything done with a toddler in the house so I can't just rock up in the living room. He loves using the smaller weights though. Puts them in a row then lifts them and carry's em over to the chair like they do the Atlas Stones on World Strongest Man.

I like going to the gym. It's my only private me time so once the routine is set it is easy to keep to. Always the initial motivation that I struggle with.

Quick update. Can't out dates on it.

Easter period. Week before and after.

Plenty of cardio which is the saving grace of two week of over indulgence in diet. Mainly due to Easter chocolate and the kids been off school so trips out with crap snacks, chocolate again. Main meals have been good. Going to hit the gym on a regular basis again now and straighten up the diet.

Had a good week last week working on my cardio. No gym stuff but starting feel a fitter, went on a long walk yesterday which I thought I'd struggle through but did great. I have eaten fairly crap though still with the snacks. Every time I think I'm out they just pull me back in, Saturday it was a full bag of peanut M&Ms...the big bag.

Hitting the gym later and aim to get two more sessions in at the gym this week so onwards and upwards.

A good gym session in the week but little else due to timings which was crap. It's worked out that I have a 3 hour block spare tomorrow afternoon after the kids footy so that will be a gym session.

Diet been OK. Really picked up on taking out the crappy snacks. Obviously no real improvement yet apart from mentally I am in a good place to keep improving. Felt a bad twinge in my knee a couple of times this week, luckily nothing has come of it.

End of month. Nothing much to add. Hoping to keep more up to date as I improve. Had a week off due to illness. Once over that my training was good. Cardio and a few good weight sessions. No gains as yet, going on a pure visual reference. I still look like shit.

Again I've not hit the gym or got in to as much of the weights as I wanted to. For that reason I have not updated this too much. I have however kept to a two weight session a week routine. I am feeling stronger and have noticed a small improvement to my chest and arms though still no where near my end targets, I am happy with the way it's going. Got to add the cardio has been great so I am feeling damn sight better and my general fitness is noticeably better. Diet is still a killer. Dropping in to the same pit falls, the amount of snacking has changed but I am making silly mistakes too often...you know grabbing a bag of crisps or a granola bar at least once a day. My dinners are still at a good standard but I could easily make a huge improvement here. Starting from Monday I want to make the huge progress I need to in this area, think that would see fantastic changes all round for me. The big worry has been a few trips out with the family have resulted in me eating like a dumb fuck, this can be rectified too. I read a lot about the amount of sleep being a big issue with trying to be healthy, this is somewhere I'm shocking at...I sleep late and get up early so I'm shocking for half a day...I do have the opportunity to go to the gym first thing, a early night would make this a lot easier to stomach

All in all going in to the next month I am hopeful of making the strides needed to be genuine happy about myself.

Did well this week. Had fuck all money so ate light over the weekend. The previous week I managed two gym sessions and some other good cardio. Monday I got to the gym and had a great work out, followed that up with a short session on Wednesday that saw me move my weights up a bit. Diet has been good, managed to cut down on the nasty junk but can still make improvements.

Gym session tomorrow and I'll be in a good place. Three times a week with the weights moving up. Hopefully I can match this with a couple of changes in diet to get the full benefit.

I'm aiming to be in a very positive place with my fitness and how I look by late July to early August. That is possible if I keep on track and hit my targets. Intend to go on full pre season mode now so intend to fit in as much cardio around my gym sessions as possible. It's just general fitness and well being I'm after so hoping that is the best way to go.

Need to add that I am seeing benefits. With my shirt off to the naked eye I see negligible improvements but with my shirt on they fit so much better and my arms are coming on a treat so I assume I've lost a little around the middle while adding it to my chest and arms.

To follow on from my last update it is still going great. My training has improved and I'm passing my targets quite well. I'm adding weight to my weights and doing better on the cardio. Feel a lot better, mentally too and I look better. I do have a long way to go but I should be in good shape by the end of July and be pretty much spot on by the end of Aug. After that its all gravy.

Some great gym sessions and cardio since the last post. Really feeling it now. I'm in the zone for training. Forgot what it felt like to gfeel good. The diet is spot on and where I want it. The weights are getting heavier and more fun. I'm starting to look a damn sight better.

This is me when I have sex now. I'm in the zone.

Way to bounce back, bruh! :good It is literally the key to success, because as far as I know, no fucker sticks to his diet 24/7.
I've been in full drinking swing with my imminent boozy holiday only a few days away, needless to say this hasn't boded too well for my weight loss efforts, but bouncing back and keeping at the cardio (as a bare minimum) have seen my weight loss efforts trade off for break-even efforts.

It's a good warm up for my harm-minimisation stratagem while on holiday.

I've been in full drinking swing with my imminent boozy holiday only a few days away, needless to say this hasn't boded too well for my weight loss efforts, but bouncing back and keeping at the cardio (as a bare minimum) have seen my weight loss efforts trade off for break-even efforts.

It's a good warm up for my harm-minimisation stratagem while on holiday.

OK holiday finished. I had intended on eating quite healthy. I failed and ate like a full on mega beast, but I did do a lot of strenuous activity, climbing, hill walking and stuff and felt damn good doing it so I'm guessing my pre holiday efoorts paid off. I've added back a bit of belly podge butu I think I did enough excercise not to crumple when I hit the gym on Monday. Still feel really focused which is great as I usually go off of the idea of gyming it once I've had a momentary blip.

Had a extra week off training after the holiday. Mainly due to other commitments rather than not wating to train. Felt bad about not training, ate OK but look to have put a little weight back on and muscle isn't where it was couple of week ago.

Trained twice this week. Two good weights sessions. Pushed hard but not to limit. I'll try to add in another session over the weekend then back to full commitment next week. Still in a good place mentally for the training. Need to get the diet back on track. It ain't bad but it could be far better. I'm at the stage with it where I am doing OK but not enough to make real gains. That is where I want to be. In the big gains market.

Quick update.

Did a few more good sessions soon after the last update. Then had a holiday which stopped things. Then got real ill real quick and I'm fucked for awhile. Bollocks.
