Just took a look at the starting list, field is deep this year! He could do it, but I expect him have 1 bad day and blow loads time
The usual ha ha

But when you look at last year, he had crashes and mechanical which fucked him on week 1. Then he came back strong and finished top 5? I think.

You probably right, all the past tours blur into one by time next one rolls around.

If he's ever going to win it, be amazed if does, it's got to be now as they really are setting it to suit him.

Froome if he comes back should focus on Giro or Veulta. Easy for me to say, but if injury as bad as being implied at 35 don't see him beating depth of field TDF currently drawing.

Yep agreed. He's also put absolutely everything into this tour. Hardly raced this year and has only just started to reach the correct level. No way his body can keep this up. No matter how determined he is mentally.

For the record, I don't think he can win it. But I do believe he can sneak a podium...

Wide open this year imo for the win. Can Thomas do it again?

Like Quintana to do it but if Bernal is riding for Thomas, unless disaster strikes must be big favourite now with leadership issue removed.

I've given up on Quintana man. If he was gonna do it, it would of been 2-3 years ago when everything was stacked in his favour.

Yeah is amazing how he blows up each time!
Frustrating because he can be phenomenal on the higher mountain stages at times.

When he was coming up, as a beginner, around 2013, I remember seeing him decimate everybody on a stage in the TdF and just thinking that he was the future of the sport. Now, he has obviously done well, very well, but my expectation for him was sky high.

I would have expected him to have won 2 TdF titles by now, based on what I saw back then.

He was just unfortunate to time it against Froome / Sky. I don't think 1 TDF is beyond him, just Movistar need a clear leadership structure

Britain's four-time Tour de France champion, 34, suffered a fractured right femur, a broken hip, a fractured elbow and fractured ribs and lost consciousness following the crash.

In other Froome news, Cobo been accused of doping in 2011 when he won the Vuelta, which bump Froome up to winner. Be his last grand tour victory I feel now knowing extent of his injuries.

lol, what took 8 years? i remember it was pretty obvious, the only thing was just maybe everyone else in the peleton was fatigied from the season and he got lucky.

that's a lot for a 34 year old to come back from, good luck to him

all i saw this season so far was a few classics and the last week of the giro. that mountain stage in the rain was gnarly as hell, and that was a shortened course

Makes Froome the first ever British grand tour winner not Wiggins. I know he's Kenyan and couldn't care less, but seriously wtf does the man need to do get the "sir" title that the sport elite get!?

Hopefully they catch Chris Horner out next for the joke that was the 2013 edition.
He definitely winner of "most suspect" GT winner in recent years. Didn't really have form to suggest he could pull that off - at 41!

Britain's Chris Froome suffered a fracture to his neck in Wednesday's serious crash, scans have shown.

The four-time Tour de France champion faces six weeks in hospital and is not expected to compete again this year.

... list injuries keeps growing!
