There's a fair chance of this one if the WBO strip AJ for fighting Pulev they are the two highest ranked in the WBO and both with Hearn.

I imagine Usyk would start as a big favourite and I'd have to pick him as Parker is too inconsistent and tends to lack urgency.

I could see an upset as possible though, if Parker actually gives it 100% for once, he has very good stamina, a fantastic chin, excellent handspeed and is physically very strong (rag dolled dimitrenko)

I think Usyks usual style might play to Parkers strengths a bit, he's not going to get ground down like a Bellew

I like it a lot, like you stated, potential for a really good fight here.

Didn't Usyk already beat Parker in WSB? It's a good fight, but Parker is incredibly inconsistent. This might be the one fight where I think he should lose that he wins . Dude lost to Whyte and Ruiz Jr. (arguably) where I thought he'd win both easily.

Parker never fought in WSB, if Parker actually comes to win he can pull it off but he always seems to lose somehow, Whyte was out on his feet in the last round and Parker still couldnt finish him

I coudl've sworn someone said Usyk beat Parker in the amateurs somewhere. Oh well, I guess they never fought then.

Parker was a kid in the amateurs, he turned pro very young so I don't read much into his amateur form

It's a perfect fight for Usyk, but I don't see what Parker gets out of it, except a near-guaranteed loss.
- And a total humiliation.

Parker has certain attributes, no doubt, but he's slow of foot and very one-dimensional with his offense. Even if he came out like a raging bull (which these days is not very likely) he doesn't have the tools to get anywhere near Usyk, let alone trap him against the ropes.

And Parker clearly doesn't have 1-punch power, so forget that dream.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Parker's team take the fight, though. It's probably the highest profile opponent they can hope to get at this point. And they may be looking to start slowly cashing out on what credibility Mighty Joe still has left.

Only thing Parker can do is try and rough Usyk up and hope the weight advantage helps it, Parker getting a world title shot against a Cruiserweight may sound like a dream to him, I still think Parker can give Usyk problems if he stays busy, Briedis had alot of success with his right hand but Parker wont do enough to win

I think saying that's the "only thing he can do" is a bit short sighted, he has a clear handspeed advantage vs Usyk and is a seasoned campaigner at heavyweight having done 12 with messers Ruiz, Joshua and Whyte. I'd certainly favour him over Bredis who ran Usyk close.

Put it this way if the Usyk who fought Chazz turns up I think Parker would really fancy the job.

Parker's got fast hands but unless he comes with aggression he will get outboxed, he got outboxed by Whyte in a terrible fight

I don't like making excuses for Parker because he does need to sort his mentality out but he was dealing to Whyte until Whyte battering rammed him with a headbutt.

He does need to come with aggression, take center ring and be prepared to trade and take one to land one. He must fight like the bigger man.

As I say it's hard to pick a guy who is so inconsistent against as classy an operator as Usyk, but I just sense a potential bannana skin for usyk if this one gets made.

Ahh I remember the good old days when Parker was hypes out to be the next heavyweight killer. They used to play videos of Joshua getting dropped in the ams in his conferences which had nothing to do with aj

Parker is such a let down.
Some boxers look incredibly gifted but they fight without any urgency and even smallest amount of resistance make them quit mentally.
I do believe he could've been one of the top dogs if he kept on growing skill wise, such a waste of talent.

Parker is heavy footed, not particularly pacey and not known for his knock out power. Usyk can likely cruise to a decision against him. I mean, he hasn't got the pop to keep Usyk honest. I think at 225-240lbs, you need substantial pop to harm Usyk - no one "out boxes" him at heavyweight. There was enough in the Witherspoon fight to suggest hitting Usyk flush could open doors. Majority of heavyweights will be 17 stone ish. Nearly 3 stone difference from getting popped by Gassiev (who can hit like a mule).

I think Parker's got heart; he got up from Whyte's knockdown fairly well. He's still easy enough to bully around a ring. Usyk dances around him for 12 rounds. I actually prefer the Chisora fight (for both).

Also realize that Parker only has a 76" reach. - 2" LESS than Usyk.

Combine that with Parker's slow feet, and Usyk's exceptional athleticism, and the story is told.
