I'm 41 almost 42 and I lift 4 days per week and then run on the 3 days I don't lift so I exercise every single day. I love training too, I get irritable if I don't train.How many rest days do you fellas take per week, and what is your age?
I think i overtrain for 42 and dont rest enough. Thing is i just love training and if i stop even for a day i get proper twitchy. It's like my body/mind has become adjusted to the endorphins and sensation of being knackered from it all. I do 6 days a week at moment, some days harder, but still, i think i have two days of just fuck all but a bit of walking, i'd be a lot better for it.
I used to do 6 days per week about a 18 months ago but my body couldn't handle it was getting real bad tendonitis in my elbows and was getting injured loads. Dropped it to 5 days and did that for a while but even that was too much and now just do 4 days and that seems to be my limit at the moment. No major injuries, niggling little ones but nothing that stops me from lifting.
I need to deload way more often, preferably every 4-5 weeks, I went 8 weeks without a deload recently and by week 7 my body was giving me warning signs to rest, week 8 I was really feeling it. But after I deloaded, wow the difference, everything felt easier and a bunch of niggling injuries disappeared.
