Fuck sake. Gonna have to rethink doing this press up thing during a lifting workout. Shit's impossible.
I reckon you could do it if you dropped all your other weight traing, and focused on it for 3 weeks or summat. But i'm doing chest and lower body splits, and it gets counter productive to throw all that on top of it after a hard day, or so i tell myself.

I'd save this challenge for next time i'm back in blighty or away on holibobs or summat

Doing my test later today to continue on with week 3. Actually tempted, regardless of the results, to drop down a column and stick with column two. That top column becomes a bit ridiculous at the end of week 4.

Assuming I do 40 push ups in my test today (an improvement of +10 from my last test, 2 weeks ago), I'm expected come next Saturday (Day 3 of week 4) to do a set of 40+ push ups, after already having done 4 sets of ~30. Of course, if I only manage 35 push ups in my test, I'd still be placed into that third column... no chance.

Column two is feeling a bit more realistic for me at the moment.
Yeah I think I'm gonna carry on as much as I can and see where the test puts me.

I'm never doing this in 7 weeks, but as long as I continue to make progress I'm happy.

22, 30, 20, 20, 32 (28+)

The first four sets were fine and blasted the last set with only one 3 second rest at 20. I've changed my technique slightly though and I'm doing them a good bit faster than the first two days. Less time under tension. Still magnificent form though.

I'm actually a bit behind as I think that's 9 days to do week 1 but I'll catch up this week.
One of the reasons I really struggled with my last set was I was trying to maintain slow controlled pressups to the ground and back so I never had momentum to help me.

Squat session today, thinking of switching out Zercher squats for B stance squats as I'd like a unilateral leg exercise.

Squats 4x1 @77kg / AMRAP @77kg - 6 reps completed/ AMRAP @77kg - 4 reps completed
Sumo DL 5x4 @104kg
Zercher Squats 3x8 @40kg
BB Rows 1x10 @48kg / 2x10 @52kg superset with DB Rows 3x16 @13kg
Glute Bridges 3x16 @31kg superset with 3x16 @13kg

I don’t mean to suddenly turn up and make you lot feel worthless, but I’ve been on a few jogs in the last couple of months. I say ‘jog’, I’m basically gliding.

3.6k as well. Not a support vehicle in sight.

Holy crap you guys were not kidding about week 4, going back down to 60 seconds rest made it exponentially harder. I breezed through week 3 and so was too cocky and stuck to the 60 secs rest between sets so by the last set my arms were totally fried and I could only manage 26 reps on the AMRAP. I'll need to switch to column 3 or take stupidly long rests.

When one of you said it took half an hour to do, I was like how is that possible, I tried to bang day 1 of week 4 out in 10 mins or less and whoa was that a mistake, hence my abject failure.

And I believe it's week 5 where you drop to under 60s rest and you're doing 8+ sets.

Who the fuck created this plan?

It's clearly directed at people that don't do any physical exercise and likely haven't done in a while. Yet here we have (being honest) a few guys well above the average person in terms of suitability for push-ups and we're struggling like fuck. How do they expect someone that could do less than 10 push-ups in the beginning to get anywhere near being able to complete the day's?

I'd say disregard the "weeks", just take a good 1-2 days off in between, especially as the volume goes way up. I'd also say around the 3rd or 4th "week" you'd want to start changing up the volume a bit. Take a light day or two, or even repeat one of the earlier weeks.

Fuck sake. You got over 50 on your last week 3 AMRAP and I only got 32 so I take it i'm fucked for week 4?

Actually...I'm probs significantly mentally stronger than you and will power through, ignorant of any form of failure.

I know it's mental, I looked at week 4 day 1 and with it only being 32 reps on AMRAP after doing 54 and thought, piece of piss, but that reduced rest period and those extra reps in the previous sets made all the difference.

When I did the 54 I was drinking wine and a bit drunk, maybe that's what I should do from now on lol, a couple of large vino's as a pre-workout, so I don't feel the burn as much.

It does say 60 seconds but to take more if required. If i fail I'll try and with 2 mins, i reckon.
