I think I've done the impossible when losing weight, man. That's me 8lbs down total and i think it's 100% muscle mass I've lost. I may actually have put on some fat, tbh.

Lol, the whole bulk and cut cycle can be disheartening. I spent years bulking then cutting down, only to look exactly the same as before. Eventually I realised I cut do cuts like most people, I have to do small deficits or I just end up losing all my gains and end up back where I started.

Last bulk and cut, I gained 11lbs then lost 7lbs, I think I've kept about 3lbs of muscle after the whole thing. Seems like a such a pathetic amount of muscle to gain in a year, but at this stage even 3 llbs is better than nothing.

TBH, i aint even dressing this up as cutting. That would imply I've bulked, which I haven't. I've never really done any of that. Like I've never consciously eaten more food/macros to build more muscle or anything. I've always just lifted and my diet has been my diet.

Then I just decided I wanted to lower my BF%. Like, i had no definition and could pinch bits of fat so wanted to get rid of them. Problem is, now that I've lost 8lbs it's exposing my complete lack of muscle mass

...but really :(

Holy crap you guys were not kidding about week 4, going back down to 60 seconds rest made it exponentially harder. I breezed through week 3 and so was too cocky and stuck to the 60 secs rest between sets so by the last set my arms were totally fried and I could only manage 26 reps on the AMRAP. I'll need to switch to column 3 or take stupidly long rests.

When one of you said it took half an hour to do, I was like how is that possible, I tried to bang day 1 of week 4 out in 10 mins or less and whoa was that a mistake, hence my abject failure.
Yeah its not joke week 4.

I went the stupidly long rest option and barely got through the workout. I'm mentally beaten before even doing the second day of this week.

If I stuck to 60 seconds I would not have come close to 26 reps on the AMRAP, I'd have barely managed 20 and I say that because that's when my arms were proper burning during my AMRAP and I had about 3 minutes rest, and I stopped for like 3 seconds every 5 reps and from rep 25 onwards I was doing singles then resting for 3 then single.

It was a night mare.

You're almost definitely selling yourself short I reckon.

But at least now you're at a bf% which you can be happy with, now all you need to do is lean bulk and never have to cut again. In theory anyway. That's what I was aiming for but I went full retard over the summer and put on about 3-4kgs of fat. So yeah, I either cut it and back at square one or just be a fat cunt and wait til my muscle mass catches up so that fat looks alright on my body. Which by my calculations will take about 16 years of non stop lifting. Awesome!

Aye, my plan was really just to get to a new float weight.

Like see how most people have a weight and they float around that by 2-3lbs? Well, mine was around 177lbs +/- 3lbs so I just really wanted to reset that to about 168lb...but now i am 170 i want to get to 165, I reckon.

Easy paced 3 mile run tonight in 25:11, still got a bit of a pain in my right heel, might have to take the rest of the week off from running to let my plantar fasciitis to heal.

That's hard though man. To maintain the float weight you'll have to find a new maintenance (which will be lower than your usual). I went back up to my old float weight over the summer in the space of about 3 months or less and it wasn't even hard, at all. It's not like my diet even changed that drastically, I was having a few more snacks a few days a week and my meals weren't as "healthy" , but that's all it needed to undo 6 months of hard work.

The key to all success in this game is PEDs or living life strict as fuck.

Yeah it's not easy, I tried to maintain for a couple years as I was happy with how I looked and just tried to stay lean year round. But you'd have to be super strict, because all it takes is a wedding, a BBQ, someone's birthday or some other social engagement and you eat and drink too much, so then diet for a couple of weeks to lose the weight you've gained, then maybe you maintain for a week or 2 until the next social engagement. My attempt to maintain basically because a gradual perma cut to maintain and even then my weight would go up during the winter, especially around Christmas.

It's why I've decided to go back to the bulk cut cycle, so instead. My plan for the next year is to start bulking next month and go from 132lbs to 142lbs by the end of Feb or March and then cut down to a new lean higher body weight of 135lbs or more depending on how much muscle I gain.

I'd also say even with PED's you have to be strict. While it will help to gain muscle and also help to cut and get lean, you still have to be maintaining your calorie intake. Just look at boxers like Toney, Fury, Wach etc, none of them body beautiful and often carried too much weight, PED's will help but won't overcome a lack of discipline in regards to diet.

Thanks, Ed.

Seriously though, i reckon it'll be fairly straight forward to manage my weight. I've never been a yo-yoer or anything like that. I'm losing weight on around 2000cals, although i'm pretty active, so I reckon I can go to around 2300 and maintain. Naw like I'll be paying that close attention on the daily but as long as i'm close to that weekly it should be fine for me.

Def gonny see about trt at some point. Was talking to a mate of mine and he was telling me about his doctor. Went with a suspected STD and the doc was like "rather than test we'll just give you the meds for everything". Same when he went for this stuff to prevent hairloss. He was on 1mg a day or summin and his insurance said they'd be stopping covering that so he went to his doc and his doc checked the plan and seen that they'd still cover 5mg (summin to do with require that level is considered more serious or summin) so his doc just prescribed him 5mg and told him to take half a one every other day. Doesny gie a fuck.

So i'm going to this guy. Will build a relationship with him then when i hit 40 or whatever I'll be like, "mate..." and that'll be me. Probs ask to get put on these age reducing pills they're working on tae, tbh.

My mind is always blown how low your maintenance level is. I maintain on 2300 if I don't do any exercise at all, but I'm about 40lbs lighter than you and maintain on 2800 cals at the moment on days I lift and over 3000 on my longer run days.

Might not even be your test levels with your low metabolism could be a thyroid issue, maybe get that checked out.

Honestly think it's from my childhood when we never had much food. I'd be lucky to get 1000 cals most days, with roughly zero protein...could go a few days without food quite regularly too, so i reckon my body just adapted to that.

I'm gonna restart week 4 the next column down.

The amount of time it takes me to complete it as written is outlandish.

Column down I should be able to return to proper rest periods.
