Nutrient timing isn't deemed as important as it once was thought from what I've read and been told. Though this is specifically talking about resistance training rather than cardio.

The idea that you should eat after a workout is mainly if you have worked out in a fasted state, for example, got up, not eaten breakfast and worked out or run. But if you've had a pre workout meal then needing a post workout meal makes no significant difference.

Though personally I like to eat after every workout, simply because your blood sugar will likely be low after exercise and you'll feel a lot better once you've eaten.
Thanks. Great answer, makes a lot of sense.

I never eat straight after working out. Just don't have an appetite after a workout. No interest in sex after a workout either.

Low T of peace.

I tend to eat an hour or two before working out, spend 2 hours at the gym then probably another half an hour dicking around going home and doing whatever. By that time I'm usually hungry as it's about 4 hours after my last meal anyway.

I always drink a protein shake asap for the reason Bomber said about the blood sugar levels and it won't really hurt to get some protein in straight away. Though no, meal timing doesn't matter in terms of gains.

Is there any validity in the 'gotta eat soon after exercising' concept? I'm referring to cardio specifically.

Just had a killer 36 min skipping, press up and jogging intervals session, back home at 11am and not that hungry.

Must've done at least 200 press ups mixed in during that. skipping is the tick-tock, directly jogging up and down the beach after press ups for cardio

Ate last night around 8pm and trying to go for 16 hour min fasts.

Talk me through it.
I think there's not enough emphasis on embracing the sub optimal tbh.

Short of being an athlete I don't think a lot of what we "should" do makes a big enough impact to be something worth worrying about.

Done a chest and shoulder workout there but really focused on shoulders, which i never ever do.

DB OHP
Inc DB bench
Arnold Press
Cable fliesCable OHP
Cable pullovers
Face pulls
Reverse flies

So I'm walking past the mirror after and i'm like "i'm a fuckin unit, man". It was the shoulder pump. Unreal how big a difference it makes. Changed the proportions of my upper body massively for the better. Never seen that before as i don't do a lot of shoulders because you never see Craig doing shoulders, do you? well then.

Anyway, i'm going to focus on shoulders much more. i've been saying this for ages but never really bothered...but now i see the difference it can make.

shoulders are probably the one area i focus most on tbh. totally agree makes a massive dif to your phsyique and appearance. i dont really want to build up big quads or thighs or end up with one of those pumpkin arses people that do fuck loads of squats end up with, but a buff set of shoulders does wonders with the birds. one great thing about boxing, works the fuck out of em.

Shoulders are possibly the goat muscle in terms of aesthetics. People with lousy shoulders just look lousy, no matter how big the rest of their body is. My chest is absolute poverty, but because I have good (relatively ffs) shoulders it doesn't even matter that much. Shoulders and decent lats can do so much for a physique, especially if you're beta as fuck like me and the rest of your body is shite.

Agree about shoulders being a game changer in terms of aesthetics. It changes the silhouette of your body and creates the illusion of greater size and makes your waist look smaller in comparison.

Unfortunately it's also one of the hardest areas to add muscle for most people.

You cunts know anything about Internet Speed?

Moved into new gaff here and net's been playing up on some sites. Doesnt seem unduly 'slow' though.

Are these scores good?

3.28 download speed is slow, mines only 10.17 and I regard that as slow as I pay for the most basic package. I think I'm paying for 12 but unless you live right next to the exchange you'll never actually get the speed you pay for, the further away you live from the exchange to slower it will be.

OHP session last night, went as planned. I might of been able to do a little more on my 2 rep max test but my right shoulder still isn't 100% from last week when I hurt it, so didn't want to push it, for maybe an extra 1kg I might of had in me.

I need to up my training max for legs up bench I've been finding that far too easy in recent weeks.

OHP 2 rep max test @57kg 2 reps completed
OHP 3x2 @47kg / AMRAP @47kg 4 reps completed / AMRAP @47kg 3 reps completed
Legs Up Bench 7x2 @68kg
Sling Shot Bench 4x2 @88kg
Push Press 3x6 @44kg
OH Tricep Extensions 3x12 @12kg superset with Paused Lateral Raises 3x12 @5kg
Rear Delt Flyes 3x12 @10kg superset with DB Flyes 3x12 @20kg

Went for a run this morning 6 miles in 51:38. Complete turn around from last weeks 6 miler which felt easy this felt like a hard slog from the start and from mile 3 I wanted to stop. Also ended up with a blister on my right foot, I haven't had blister in years, not sure why I've got one now, it's not like I'm running a lot of miles, if anything I've reduced them. This pretty much makes my mind up on Nikes for running, they don't live up to the hype or marketing, I'll go back to a dedicated running shoe company from now on like Saucony or Brooks.

And after I got home from my run found we have no running water so can't shower for fuck sake. I hope everyone else's Sunday is going better than mine.
