I went to University there. I should have never left the place to be honest. It was up there with some of the best times of my life. I went back to university in London after Sheffield and thus had to move. I wouldn't rule out me moving back to Sheffield before long now I'm relatively single again.

Are you close by Sheffield now? I never went down Hillsborough area unless it was for footy or the snowboarding place that's closed now. Sheffield's ace.

Who's your NFL team, did you mention you were a Niner? I'm a Dawg, we've been shit for years, but Cleveland will be back.
I'm about 20minutes away now but all my mates live in Sheffield still so im there all the time, I'm from Rotherham/Doncaster but I love Sheffield. It has everything I could want. I wish the ski village was still open but I think it's coming back.

Hillsborough isn't great, I lived right by the football ground.

Well I'm a niner for no real reason other than Sammy from this forum got me watching them, I started watching because of him.

I honestly can't think of a better place to live than Sheffield, lots of good food places, places to go like the climbing works etc, I just think it has everything

You probably have the same postcode as me, Craig. I'm guessing you're Ssomething or DNsomething.

I'm in gobbing distance of Sheffield, twenty odd minutes on a train.

Sammy is fucking ace, bro. One of the top blokes on here.

I only lived in Mexborough for 19 years. Born and bred, kid. I'm Donny now by way of London, Sheffield, York, Coventry, USA, and Netherlands. I taught for a year in Mexborough too.

edit: I'll hook up with you for a beer some time if you're up.

I'm old enough to remember when Colin had the Falcon near the old post office. I'll probably have slept with the same girls as you.

My parents left Mexborough when my sister and me left, they're Conisbrough now. I'm heading to theirs in two weekends. They were here today. I taught in Mexborough in 2015/16.

How did you get?
Came with the property. A goat, a sheep, and half a dozen stupid chickens.

Her full name is Harriet Houdini, because apparently she's escaped half a dozen times. Every time, she just broke into someone else's yard and just hung out eating all their flowers until they got home.

The sheep wouldn't come within ten feet of me at first, but now she eats out of my hand which is surprisingly awesome. Harriet was friendly from the start.

I remember when people used to keep animals like that round here. That pastime has died off over the past 20 years though unfortunately.

Yeah there's an empty section out back that is just a grass paddock. In the middle of the suburbs. The sheep eats the grass, the goat eats the thistles. And it's very peaceful and zen to sit outside with a coffee and a smoke and watch the farm. :thumbsup

Growing up it was common for households to have a few animals in the back round here. Not everybody, but a couple on each street then you'd get the odd house that had a little more land and they'd have a few bigger things. All that land is now built on. The farm behind my old house is now a pretty estate, the farm house is trendy apartments. Fortunately the allotments still exist, but for how long I don't know. Allotments are little patches of land where people grow crops or keep chickens and stuff, you'd get a dozen to twenty of these little patches all together. Usually ran by older folk.
