Merge the reality obsessed masses with above and taxpayers could save a fortune. Vote for who you want go into combat etcLeading from the above I'd love to see a return to Roman times gladiatorial combat with people getting the chance to win their prison freedom. Non criminal combatants could enter but they just sign watertight wavers to any prevent suing.
Earnings wise top 10 for sure. Not sure for achievement or ability.Floyd is one of the top 10 boxers in history based on talent/ability meshed with achievements. Others had better achievements with less ability, others may have had a slightly higher ability but not the achievements. In terms of a combination of both, he's top 10 for me. Guy had a gift and drive that few will ever come close to matching.
I think earnings wise he is far and away the #1, and by a distance.Earnings wise top 10 for sure. Not sure for achievement or ability.
He one of those guys who for me don't pass the "pick up and drop" test. I can't see him having same level of success in previous eras.
Agreed. I think his "natural" talent was a bit like RJJ though, more do with insane amount if training from young age. It's hard to say, he has the natural talent that few people have ever had, and his dedication to his craft turned him into a boxer that no one in his era could beat. Yet would he still be able to do that in an era of fighting 10-20 times a year? In theory, he'd beat all the 'filler' fighters easily enough, but the wear and tear accumulated (he had hand issues etc.) means he could've struggled against the ATG's in the midst of that, where he'd be much better with rest/training camps between them.
I do think his ability is close to the very top though, his understanding of fighting in the ring is ridiculous.
