Just have demon balor interrupt the fiends matches sporadically over the next few months starting with this one. Eventually letting them have a match in January at the rumble or even stretch it out further than that and have it come to a head at Mania next year.Reddit hated the finish but the mistake was booking The Fiend in a title match so early because unless you're giving him the belt, he's not going to look strong, and it's too early to give him the belt and he's not the type of gimick that should be champion either. The main complaint seems to be that it was a DQ in a non-DQ match but it wasn't, it was a no contest because the referee had to protect The Fiend...which is a bullshit finish but it's a legitimate one.
I don't know how the decision could have been better. I just would have avoided The Fiend in a title match altogether because it's difficult to book it better.
So Vince worked us into a shootFightful has spoken to several backstage at WWE Hell in a Cell, who called the finish to the show involving Seth Rollins and The Fiend completely a Vince McMahon's call, and his sight and vision played out how he wanted it. There was much criticism from the roster and employees that we spoke to immediately after the show with this, among some other booking decisions this week -- though those weren't specified with details.
At least one story we heard involved Vince McMahon laughing off the reaction that the crowd gave the finish.
