Taxi Driver

I havent watched this for a few years. So Im quite removed from my original impression of this film

The cinematrography is excellent. I mean almost perfect. Most directors wouls shot some B roll for the driving scences, but this film has De Niro in almost all the establishing shots. Which is the point. Travis is observing 70's New York, which is a cess pit

OK, Im sounding like a 17 year old media studies student. The acting is great (young Jodie Foster holding her own with De Niro and Kietel) and the edititng is on point

10/10

EDIT TL:DR

A near perfect charactor study and and acting and editing master class

Castle Duckula.
Only The Brave

A film that had passed me by when it was on at the cinema. It sounds like one of those disaster movies that feel out of place by 2018/19. The cast is impressive, which is what led me to fancy putting it on. Miles Teller is McDonough a low life who wants to find his way by joining Josh Brolins attempting to be elite fire crew. The based on true events storyline pulls you in then spits you out. Solid film which really brings home the recent fires that struck the US. A true ride of emotions with great character development and a lusty score.

8/10 far better than a typical disaster movie. OTB has a few hits of those fun 80s films like Top Gun and Officer and a Gentleman too.

Yeah Shane is a brilliant film.

Anyway I watched Willow last night;

Willow

-so willy is about some midgets that have to go on a quest
-and they meet a mysterious swordsman on the road
-and they're hunted by dark creatures and trolls
-and the main midget is mentored by a wizard
-and there's an evil dark sorcerer who wants what the midget (reluctantly) has
-and there's a cute elf looking girl (not orlando bloom)
-and there's a fire breathing dragon thing near the end
-so yeah this film is basically the lord of the rings/hobbit written by george lucas
-and its quite good
-has good music and is fun
-and there's an entire fucking village of midgets
-its mad they even have town meetings and stuff
-and val killmore is actually passable in it
-and the girl is ridiculously attractive
-and there's these even smaller midgets who are all funny and stuff and have little tiny weapons but they act like little shits
-that's about it really
-oh yeah and there's a talking goat

7/10

I'd pull on her bowstring.

Hyena - very decent British crime drama. Manages to avoid a lot of the genre cliches, and improves with a second watch. 8/10

I had a massive childhood crush on her in that movie.
Those eyes plus that hair plus being the daughter of a psychopath plus hating you and wanting to kill you is such a turn on. Back then I bet the choice was her or Jennifer Connolly in Labyrinth. Good matchup but the sexy psycho Willow girl wins.

See even aged well, no crazy plastic surgery/weight gain etc..

Ben Stiller stars EEEEEEE-EEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE in this film about EEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEE a guy struggling with getting older, his EEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE son going away to EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE college and people he used EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE--EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE to know becoming successful EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I turned it off after about 15/20 EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE minutes because of the constant use EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE of annoying violins everytime EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE somebody stopped EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE talking.

1/10 EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE sit.

The last film I watched was last night on Channel Five. " Me Before You". a great film. Basically about a fit athletic young man who gets crippled and confined to a wheelchair. a young girl is hired to look after him. He has decided that after six months he will go to Switzerland and end his life at the Dignitas centre. Great to watch, excuse me while I dry my eyes. Regards Mervyn The Gee
