Centigrade

I must be a weird fooker I like these kind of films there was another similar film about a guy in a coffin in Iraq buried alive and was running out of air. And was on the phone to the rescue team

The film is based on a US couple who go to Norway for a book signing. The starting sequence is they wake up in the car trapped in a blizzard the vehicle is covered in snow windows frozen shut. Car has no power the phone has no signal. An hour into film the lady is pregnant. The baby gets delivered this is where my family and friends turn on me. The baby delivered is in good health. The Father then delivers the placenta chucks it to 1 side. I say to the Mrs I would eat that np she thinks im disgusting so we ask whats app friends they think im a cannibal. WTF u are trapped in a car no food little water no rescue.

Maybe I watch 2 much Ed Stafford on Discovery.

wonder woman 1984 concludes with the main character using her mind control whip to tell the entire world population to renounce their wishes and desires, forget the injustices done to them, and have faith in her to keep them safe.
Wasn't a mind control whip, she was showing the people the truth which is what led to people renounce their wishes. It's complete garbage of course, I hated the ending, wishy washy, we're all good deep down nonsense that contradicted what they said before about nobody ever renouncing their wishes. Also cheapened Diana's sacrifice as everyone did the same.

Peppermint - Hilary Swank plays a woman who's husband and daughter are murdered in front of her by a drive by, she disappears and returns years later to exact revenge. Overall a really "meh" film, nothing about this stands out other than Swank, everything else is so average and predictable, there's nothing memorable about this film at all. Still not figured out why on earth this film is called peppermint, maybe I missed it or it got cut out in the edit.

Richard Jewell - directed by Clint Eastwood & starring that fat guy who always plays a dummy & is a bit like a second coming of Zach Galifinakis (he was in Kingdom & also in season 2 of Cobra Kai).

Based on the true events surrounding the Atlanta 1996 Olympics park bombing.

Zach G 2 plays the titular security guard who discovers the backpack containing the bomb & alerts the police to it & is instrumental in leading those in the crowd closest to the bomb to safety, saving possibly hundreds of lives in the process.

He's lauded as a hero for 3 days until the FBI decide to turn their investigation towards him as their main suspect.

Disgusting to see the lengths the FBI were willing to go to to "get their man" even when evidence to the contrary was discovered early on in their investigation.

Great film.

He Man: Master of the Universe

Dolph Lundgren straight off appearing in Rocky 4 explodes with unimagined sex appeal in this epic telling of the 1980s cartoon hero He Man. Frank Langella put in a life times performance as the evil Skeletor and defines what is to be the perfect villain. For the dads Courtney Cox is the adorable Julie Winston and Megan Fox hots it up as Evil Lynn. The film begins with our heroes defeated and on the run escaping to earth with the aid of Gwildor's (Billy Barty) Cosmic Key which creates sounds that open up portals to anywhere else in the universe. Quickly chased by evil mercenaries things turn from bad to worse. I won't ruin the film if you haven't seen it, which you really must as it is a classic. I caught the movie on Blu-Ray having waited a couple of years to rewatch the movie in this format I was amazed by how good it sounded. The theme is as powerful as ever and the soundtrack adds a few cool tunes too with Hendrix never sounding better. Visually the film holds up. The painted backgrounds are on point, the fight scenes are lit to capture every glistening muscle and sword while the special effects look every bit as good today as they did in 1987. The bounds along at electric pace culminating in some of the best action scenes put on film.

9/10 Great film and perfect example of the highs 80s cinema rose to.

M

Fritz Lang's brilliant film about Berlin caught in a panic while a child murderer is on the loose, while the police and underworld figures hunt for him.
Holds up magnificently like most Fritzflicks, pretty disturbing too. The great Citizen X definitely builds on M's success.

The Exterminating Angel

Mexican film about a group of wealthy socialites who attend a dinner party at one's mansion and then find themselves, quite literally, unable to leave the room. Combining elements of Jean-Paul Sartre, Lord of the Flies, and The Twilight Zone, this film is weirdly absorbing, at times poignant, and cleverly satirical.

Rating: 7.5-8/10.

Police Story

Jackie Chan actioner in which he plays a cop who ends up getting framed for the murder of another cop and must fight to clear his name and bring down the drug lord responsible. One of Chan's best films(my favourite is Police Story 3) with great action and a spectacular showdown in a shopping mall.

Guardians of the Galaxy. I didn't rate this as highly as some when I first watched this but this film has grown on me, thoroughly entertaining.

A great example of an ensemble comic book film done right without previous films to build back stories. All the characters have a simple and clear back story and allowed some character development along with the lead, feels like a real ensemble effort not just one hero and their side kicks like we've seen in other films like Birds of Prey.

I like how all the cast are allowed their comedic moments, it's not just a case where there's one funny one, one serious one etc, everyone even the villain Ronan is allowed comedic moments which makes the film feel like a comedy throughout and not some action film with a few comedic moments thrown in. They all also get a moment to shine, whether it be Groots sacrifice at the end or Drax killing Korath it's not just one hero doing all the heavy lifting.

I went to this movie on a date. Being a night worker, I was tired as it was my first night off and I had to get up 5 hours earlier than usual. I bought a half litre can of V at the supermarket beforehand.

Sculled it back during the previews. Fell asleep in my seat sometime during Act 1. She woke me up when the credits rolled. Never seen the movie since.
